FailSafe WIP (06-12-2009) (A7800 Game)

The idea of the game is that you are a tank on enemy grounds trying to prevent the launch of missiles that will basically destroy the world.

The main goal of the game is to a) Get access to the launch code, and b) reach the missile silo to enter the code and stop the missiles from launching. The code is made up of four hexadecimal digits (0-9, and A-F).

In this game, the object for each level is to reach the opposite end of the level. For the first 5 levels, once you make contact with the Depo you will receive a random position of the code. It is possible to get the same position more than once. On the sixth level, once you reach the missile, you must enter the code as quickly as possible using the joystick, and press the button to see if it is accepted. If it is, you have saved the day, and the game begins on a harder level. If you don’t enter the correct code before the impact….

Release notes/Changes:

Update bins:

– My first pass at PAL (FAILSAFP) Please let me know what doesn’t look right, as I have no PAL machine to test.
– As stated before, Power Ups have been included:
1) The ‘Speed’ Powerup (‘S’) will turn your tank Light Green
2) The ‘Shot Distance’ (‘D’) will turn your tank Dark Blue
3) The ‘Invincibility’ (‘I’) will turn yout tank Hot Pink
4) The ‘Freeze Enemy’ (‘F’) will turn your tank White
These will last a period of time, after which your tank will begin to flash before you lose the power.
– All sounds have been added
– Enemy locations have been tweaked.

All bins in zip file attached.

Thanks!
Bob

Harrys Hen House (15-04-2009) (A7800 Game)

GroovyBee has released a first public version of his Easter game “Harry’s Hen House”. It’s a bit similar to Chucky Egg.

Release notes:

Correction! The next release is today πŸ˜€ . I had a bit of a brainwave and hopefully I’ve made the games library work on real hardware. Would any CC2 owners like to test this version and get back to me? Can you also check if the title screen looks OK? Its slightly out in ProSystem 1.3, but should be better than Allan’s picture. If this version works then I’ll start a thread on emulator defects. If not, I’ll keep plugging away.

Harrys Hen House (14-04-2009) (A7800 Game)

GroovyBee has released a first public version of his Easter game “Harry’s Hen House”. It’s a bit similar to Chucky Egg.

WIP News:

Jumping is a slightly broken at the moment and its only two levels. Hopefully I’ll get some more levels into the next release.

I’m not sure if it’ll work on real hardware but if any CC2 owners would try it, then that would be good. I’m particularly interested in checking if the title screen looks like the screenshot in the opening post and if it declares an NTSC or PAL video system found.

Any comments and suggestions appreciated.

Have fun!

Harrys Hen House (WIP) (A7800 Game)

GroovyBee is working on a Easter game called “Harry’s Hen House”. There is no release yet, but a few bits from the author.

WIP News:

I had hoped to get it done for Easter weekend but its undergone a bit of a rewrite today. Theres no binary at the moment, but I’ll definately put one up later on. If the level looks familiar its taken from an old A&F game called Chuckie Egg. Its using the Wasp! game engine, so its unlikely to work on real hardware πŸ™

Release notes:

Some minor fixes. Its my last attempt to get it going on a real machine before I get down and build a dev cart. Reports from CC2 owners much appreciated.
