Basilisk II (Test 16) (MacOS emu for PSP)

Basilisk II is an Open Source 68k Macintosh emulator.

Release notes:

No. The mac is not designed to run at less than 512×384. Using anything smaller WILL cause problems. Besides, if you can’t read the 512×384 display in 16:9 (so it’s using the full 480×272), you need reading glasses. Not my problem. Perhaps you should get a 104″ HDTV and a Slim PSP. ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜€

The fact of the matter is, most Mac software (color games in particular) are written for a minimum of 640×480. I suggest people run it in that mode most of the time. You can switch resolutions on the fly with this version of Basilisk, so feel free to do so, switching down to 512×384 when you need to read something that is “too small”.

Okay, here’s test 16. Made a few more changes to the timing, and now I support suspend/resume. The only thing that shouldn’t work after resume is the network. I might add that later. I’m not very motivated on that front right now.

Just a reminder to people who haven’t bothered reading the Basilisk docs – the external filesystem used to read the memstick requires System 7.6 or newer.

Do you remember the two farting guys “Terrance & Phillip” from South Park? Now those two guys have their very own computergame on the Atari 2600 platform.

Release notes from atari2600land:

Been working on simplifying the code a little, and I ran into a problem: Pressing fire doesn’t make you go up on level 4. Any ideas why?

PingBox v1.8 (PPC Application)

The ping command is useful for determining the status of the network and various foreign hosts, tracking and isolating hardware and software problems, and testing, measuring, and managing networks. This tool work exactly as windows ping command, but it’s more compact. Just type IP address or host name, check how many hops you will want and hit [Ping] button. Any feedbacks are welcomed!

Changes:

– cleanup ip/name field on focus
– fixed application crash when double tap on ip/name field
– on install will check for already installed v1.8 or later(need to remove manually v1.7)

Terrance and Phillip (Build 34) (A2600 Game)

Do you remember the two farting guys “Terrance & Phillip” from South Park? Now those two guys have their very own computergame on the Atari 2600 platform.

Release notes from atari2600land:

New version. Starts at level 4, which is a swimming world, so I need a sprite of him swimming. Right difficulty A starts at level 3, right difficulty B starts at 4. I just got the mechanics of level 4 going, so I haven’t put in any enemies yet.

Siamond (01-03-2008) (NES Game)

Siamond is a Simon clone for NES.

Release notes:

For those interested, I have a newer version:

http://www.nintendoage.com/media/_usermedia/attachments/Siamond3%2Ezip

Some better graphics in-game (I think anyway), a more ornate title screen with music, and you have a time limit to enter your move now.

I rewrote some of the instruction screen as per Blargg’s suggestions, although I do realize I spelled “Ends” wrong. It’s been fixed.

As I post newer demos I continue to update more things, heh.

Columns Clone (12-05-2008) (NES Game)

Quote from Sivak:

Hey folks. Thanks to the help I got, I have a pretty clean rom of a functional Columns game. Right now, things are simple and only 8 blocks are in the rotation of what you get (one of which being the magic jewel), so things won’t be too challenging. Though you can see how the engine works currently.

Tic-Tac XO (Demo Build) (NES Game)

Quote from roth:

This is a small game that I started not too long ago. It’s tic-tac-toe, but with a twist.

The computer is unbeatable by normal means of playing the game, so there are items, or power-ups if you’d rather call them that. There are extra turn, switch O tile to X tile, clear row, and clear column items that you can get. They are obtained individually depending on things that you have done in the game; three stalemates, two diagonal wins, two horizontal wins, and two vertical wins respectively. You can only have one of each item at a time.

Button A places your tile, and B activates the item you have selected. Use Select to choose which item to have selected. For the switch O to X item, you have to have the gameplay arrow over the O tile you wish to change when you push B. Of course, Start begins the game.

Since this is a demo build, being able to end the game is taken out, and it just keeps looping. In the final assembly, the game can be beaten by winning five games against the computer.

Anyway, I’m pleased with how this has turned out. There are a few little things I want to do to it, mostly cosmetic, but besides that, it’s pretty much done : ) It has been tested on hardware and works, so I’m VERY pleased about that! Here it is: http://robertlbryant.com/temp/ttxo.nes
