OpenTyrian Wii v1.0 (Wii Game Port)

OpenTyrian is a port of the DOS shoot-em-up Tyrian. Tyrian is an arcade-style vertical scrolling shooter. The story is set in 20,031 where you play as Trent Hawkins, a skilled fighter-pilot employed to fight Microsol and save the galaxy. This port is done by Molokai.

Quote:

This is a Wii adaptation of TYRIAN, the game edited by Eclipse and published by Epic MegaGames. The original game was programmed by Jason Emery, illustrated by Daniel Cook, and its music composed by Alexander Brandon and Andreas Molnar.

This port is based on OpenTyrian project code, maintained by mindless2112, syntaxglitch, emacs.hacker, yuriks.br.

This README file was based on the README found on Nuvalo’s old one.

This port is separate from Nuvalo’s port, and has now replaced it (as you can see). It is fully functional and much more stable than the Wii-Linux version.

This is not the version featured in the Homebrew Showcase linked on the main page (unfortunately). But trust me, it is better, and easier to use.

VICE PSP v2.1.1 (C64 emu for PSP)

Akop Karapetyan ported VICE to the PSP. VICE is a C64 emulator.

Release notes:

VICE PSP is now out. The sound lag seems to be fixed; however there are some issues: for one, the FPS counter sometimes reports incorrect data after frame skipping goes into effect (showing 4 FPS, when the emulatorรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs actually rendering at 50), and annoying stuttering noise while frames are being skipped.

I would like the sound engine to be more polished prior to release, but Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve only had a few hours to work in the last two weeks (not likely to improve any time soon), and I feel like itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs in a suitable enough state.

VICE is a series of Commodore emulators; for now, Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve only ported the C64 emulator. Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve wanted to port a C64 emulator for a while now; as a fan of chiptunes/demoscene music (I recommend Kohina, by the way), Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm familiar with the popular SID chip that gave talented musicians like Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard and Ben Daglish an outlet to produce some of the most brilliant sets of bleeps and bloops to grace oneรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs ears.

Now itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs almost 4 AM, and I should probably turn in.
