MSX2 is an upgraded 8-bit home computing standard introduced in 1985 by ASCII and Microsoft as the successor to MSX. Powered by a 3.58 MHz Zilog Z80A CPU with a minimum of 64 KB RAM and 128 KB VRAM, it utilizes a Yamaha V9938 video processor to output resolutions up to 512 x 212 with 16 colors (or 256 x 212 with 256 colors from a 512-color palette) alongside 3-channel sound and an integrated real-time clock.
