The Vectrex is a vector-based home video game console released by General Consumer Electronics (GCE) in 1982. Powered by a Motorola 68A09 CPU running at 1.5 MHz with 1 KB of RAM, 8 KB of ROM, and an AY-3-8912 sound chip, it uniquely features an integrated 9-inch monochrome CRT screen that draws sharp vector graphics directly via electron beam deflection. It plays games using credit-card-sized ROM cartridges paired with translucent plastic screen overlays to add color and static game elements.
