Sinclair ZX Spectrum Files

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum is an 8-bit home computer created by Sinclair Research and released in the UK in 1982. Powered by a Zilog Z80A CPU running at 3.5 MHz, it originally shipped with 16 KB or 48 KB of RAM and featured a signature rubber chiclet keyboard. It outputs a 256 x 192 resolution with a fixed 8-color palette (with brightness levels yielding 15 shades), which introduced its characteristic “attribute clash” graphical quirk. Using cassette tapes as its primary storage format, it relied on a built-in 1-channel beeper for sound and proved instrumental in launching the UK software development industry.
