S2P(Slide2Play) is my third S2 series application. S2P is a stylus-free MP3/WMA player application. It simply lets you browse your music files & play.

Changes:

– the Album View now can flow. (since this view is very CPU intensive, it may be sluggish on your device)
– added 2 control buttons in the Album View.
– added option (FastAlbumPic) to retrieve embedded album pic faster (same as v0.38); but if the album pic cannot be loaded probably, disable this option.
– changed option AlwaysLoadAlbumPic to AlwaysLoadEmbedAlbumPic; it’s only useful when a folder contains a mix of songs from different albums. If there is no embedded album pic in your song files, make sure to set it to 0.
– the album pic & song info are now cached (under each folder as folder.jpg, s2p1.tag & s2p2.tag), i.e. the second time you visit the same album, it’ll be faster.
– added support to HTC Diamond – both GSensor & AVRCP; for AVRCP, read the FAQs below for the detail trick.
– added support to RealVGA.
– won’t keep the system alive when it’s paused.
– separate CAB files for QVGA(low-res) & VGA(high-res) devices.
– fixed the issue that all memory was ate up for some problematic embedded album pic.

Beside “Smallball in Changeland” the author Imerion is also working on an Asteroids clone called “Rocks” (for now).

Anyway, the plan is to make it quick and fast, like my previous game Smallball in Changeland. One game round should not take more than a few minutes, so you can pick up and play it anytime. However, this game will have a lot more depth that Smallball.

Currently, the game is planned to have six different levels, with different environments which affects gameplay. One of them, for example, has a black hole in the middle constantly dragging players and asteroids in. There will be weapon power-ups to pick up and apart from the asteroids there will be other random enemies to look out for. The game also has an interesting shield, which deflects any single asteroid which hits you. But if you move towards them yourself it won’t work and it will neither work if more than two rocks hit you at once. The shield can also be “released” which destroys all nearby asteroids but leaves you vulnerable.

This is pretty much the current plan for the game.
Now, the reason for this rather long post is, does anyone have any ideas of things to add to the game? I’d be happy to hear any suggestions which might make this a better game.

Also, here is a very early screenshot. It doesn’t do the game justice though. The moving background and particle-effects are barely visible and some of the graphics will be redrawn. But it gives an idea of what the game is like.

Music player for the Wii. It has a nice interface and is skinnable. It plays mp3, ogg and other formats but does not work with wma, aac or flac. It is a native Wii application (no Wii Linux) with the intent of being a multi-source media player on the Wii.

DragonMedia Player will pick up files anywhere on your SD card, and plays sequentially once a file has started. Simply install into the HBC by copying the dmp folder in the zip file to /apps/ and run the program. Do not rename the folder as DragonMedia Player expects things to be in the correct order to function. For the changelog, please look inside either the source or the binary zip file.

iTunes stores a backup of some of the iPhone files on your computer. This script will extract these files so that you can view and edit them.

The script does not currently support re-encoding.

Make a copy of your ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ and run the script against the *.mdbackup files. The script will create a MobileSyncExport folder which will contain the extracted files.

Currently supports Mac OS X. Tested on Python 2.3.5 and upwards.

The output is a folder full of plist and SQLite databases. If that doesn’t mean anything to you or you don’t know how to use Terminal to run a python script, this script will not be of use to you.
