Frood (GBA Techdemo)

News taken from GBAdev.org:

Frood is a scroller demo from Chris Berry:
Thought I’d send along this demo I threw together. It’s pretty ugly, and a bit “old skool” (I converted it from an Atari ST demo I wrote about 11 years ago 🙂
This demo used up most of the CPU time of the Atari ST, but on the GBA’s hardware it uses up hardly any at all.

LOFT Demo (GBA misc)

News taken from GBAdev.org:

Frederic has released a demo of his LOFT system:This is a little prey-predator system. The originality is that it is programmed in a language called LOFT which allows for concurrent programming (with a variant of threads, called FairThreads). The objective of LOFT is to ease the programming of behavioral aspects in embedded systems such as the gba.

A Web page describes the context:
http://www.inria.fr/mimosa/rp/LOFT

The LOFT compiler can be obtained from there (GNU license).

Touch! (GBA game)

News taken from GBAdev.org:

Dave Mejia has released his first game for the GBA called Touch!

Touch! can be thought of as breakout with a few twists… The goal of the game is to move all the blocks to the bottom of the screen. Your paddle can move up, down, left or right? and you can control the speed of the ball.To clear the level you must move all the blocks within the three-minute time limit. Each time the ball hits the red line you will be penalized by a certain deduction of time.

The game includes:
+ A High Score system (not saved to SRAM though)
+ Instructions are built into the image
+ Proper credit to the people who made the game possible.

Elite: The New Kind v1.1 (GBA game)

News taken from GBAemu.com:

A port of Elite: The New Kind has been made for the GBA! It features everything found in the PC (a remake itself) and also has a nifty menu system which replaces the keyboard you would have used on the PC. A very nice port and well worth checking out. And before you say the news is old (it says January 2002 on the homepage) the binaries say 26/01/2003 so I will go with that 🙂
