Don’t Be Square by Sebastian Mihai is techdemo with source code available, helpful for starting programming on a Nintendo 64.
Release notes:
Man, this one was a pickle to develop for. The Nintendo 64 SDK compiled for Windows is finicky at best. Some of the platform code won’t compile like it does on Linux, and the compiler seems to either generate misaligned code or wrong CPU opcodes. Not a pleasant one to develop for, that’s for sure!
Nonetheless, if you’re interesting in making Nintendo 64 homebrew games, this tech demo could be a decent starting point.
Pocket Worm by Sebastian Mihai is a PocketStation homebrew game inspired by Nibbles. The goal is to guide the worm and eat the 30 pieces of food appearing randomly on the screen. As the worm eats food, it grows and speeds up.
Swan Driving is a new WonderSwan Color “game” by Sebastian Mihai. You control a car, trying to avoid incoming traffic. Your car has a low and a high gear, for driving slowly and fast, respectively. Use UP/DOWN to move your car, and LEFT/RIGHT to select low or high gear.
Swan Driving is meant more as a tech demo, to be useful for others trying to kick-start their WonderSwan development. It features a scrolling background layer, scrolling foreground layer (for the rain), and of course, sprites for the cars.
Eight Queens by Sebastian Mihai is an implementation of the Eight Queens Problem on Sega’s unfortunate add-on to the Genesis, the 32x. Towards the end of the Genesis era, Sega’s plan was for the 32x to tide Genesis players over, until the release of the next-gen system, the Sega Saturn. It seems that Sega preferred planet code-names for their systems, as the internal name for the 32x was Project Mars.
This Sega 32x homebrew finds all solutions, whereby no two chess queens threaten each other (as in, share a row, column, or diagonal), on a standard chess board of eight by eight squares.
Giana’s Return aims to be a worthy UNOFFICIAL sequel of “The Great Giana Sisters” and has been recently updated for Dreamcast to match to it’s latest v1.10 version. Ported to Dreamcast by Indiket.

She simply has been at the wrong place at the wrong time. You will now have to take on the role of Giana and get back the magic ruby. And most important of all, save your beloved sister Maria and get home save!
Release notes:
Unfortunately we had a bug in Giana’s Return v1.10 for Dreamcast, which crashed the game after level 8. After some investigation Indiket was able to track the bug down. The version of mikmod used was a bit old and had to be updated to v3.3.7. The game works as expected again. Sorry Dreamcast users! Head over to the download section for the update and enjoy a crash free version.

In Tumulus by yllawwally you are an adventurer, out to stop the fiends coming from Tumulus. This game is inspired by Golden Axe.
Changes/Notes:
New version, I fixed the scoring to support 5 digits, I thought I had added this a long time ago. I didn’t check to see if I broke it, or never completed it. But it now works. I enhanced the skyline, I think it looks better with a changing color when enemies are on the screen. The multi-sprite bosses no longer have the line that slides through them. I had to do a bunch of moving around to get enough cycles to skip the positioning code, if it was a boss. And somehow I never noticed that the roman number for 4 was backwards, and looked like a 6, oops.

Changes/Notes:
I’ve been pretty busy lately. However here is a new version. Killing a creature on lane 6, no longer causes a creature on another lane to die. This was related to the Boss code. I wasn’t clearing the link ID after a BOSS was shown, so that the link ID was still set to that lane. Some of the creatures couldn’t damage the player, was because I accidentally replaced the list of must defeat creatures with the list of creatures that can damage the player. Hitting a creature no longer causes an increase in the line count to 263. However it now causes a reduced line count to 261. I will need to test this on my TV, and see if it’s a problem that must be fixed. I changed the ordering of the monsters, this affected which ones need to be destroyed, and which can damage the player.
Jay van Hutten wrote us to let us know about this latest Gameboy Advance game. It’s a remake of Flappy Bird. Interesting here is, that the GBA is not used as usual, but check out the video on your to understand. Flappy Bird is a one button game where you need to get a bird trough pipes, while not colliding with it. As said there is only one button, so with this button you can give your bird some height, but the height is being reduced immediate again. So you need to keep clicking and keep the correct height, which isn’t easy at all.
