The Atari Lynx is a handheld console released by Atari in 1989 as the first portable with a color LCD screen. Originally designed by Epyx, it runs on an 8-bit MOS 65SC02 CPU at 4 MHz paired with a 16-bit custom CMOS graphics chip named Suzy running at 16 MHz. It features 64 KB RAM, a 3.5-inch backlit display at 160 x 102 resolution with 16 simultaneous colors from a 4,096-color palette, 4-channel audio, and hardware support for sprite scaling, distortion, and zooming.
