The Master System is an 8-bit home video game console released by Sega in 1985 in Japan and 1986 in North America. Powered by a 3.58 MHz Zilog Z80A CPU with 8 KB system RAM and 16 KB VRAM, it outputs a 256 x 192 resolution display with 32 colors from a 64-color palette alongside 4-channel audio driven by a SN76489 PSG. It supports both ROM cartridges and Sega Cards alongside dual 8-way directional controllers.
