Here is another Gmu release for the GP2X (Open2X), the GP2X Wiz and the Dingoo A320 (Dingux). It is the last Gmu release for this year. 😉 It comes with some new features and bugfixes.
The new features include:
* A shutdown timer: Gmu can be configured such that it shuts itself down after a number of minutes or after the last track has been played. Gmu can also execute a command to shut down the entire device, so you can use this feature as a “sleep timer”. This obviously won’t work on the GP2X-F100/F200 because of the device’s mechanical power switch.
* A log bot: Gmu is now able to keep track of the played tracks by writing them to a text file. This can be used for various purposes. It might be useful for feeding those data into the last.fm system for example.
* An increased number of playlist slots: Gmu can now handle up to 32 playlists (instead of 8).
Besides those new features there are some bugfixes, e.g. the auto-play feature has been fixed. That was previously broken in the 0.7.0 series of Gmu.
Please note, that you will need the Open2X firmware to run this release on your GP2X.

The “AutoStart” plugin lets you launch homebrew, PSX games and ISOs on startup by pressing the configured button. You can also set something to automatically start without the need to press any buttons.
Changes:
Changed the hooking method, apps like irshell’s exit game works correctly now.
Fixed the bug where you couldn’t turn back on the screen if turned off.
The constant LED blinking on startup shouldn’t happen anymore.
Made the text in the options menu easier to understand.

The Pixelh8 Music Tech Master Stroke DS is a real time synthesizer for the Nintendo DS system it allows for extensive sound design and is the natural evolution of the Music Tech Series allowing for the classic chip tune sound on a modern device.

The new system allows for keyboard style play by pressing “X†to bring up the 2 Ocatve Xylophone or classic Music Tech mode by using the directional pad to control the sounds in the same way as the Music Tech Game Boy and Pro Performer Game Boy Advance.
Loads of new combinations are possible as you can now combine interval settings with time based effects as well as using the noise channel instead of tone and the easy change between menus allow for quick change during performance.
All sounds are produced via the on board sound chip and no samples or sample manipulation is used, this is a real time chip tune synth for the DS.

Here are some news from the overseas sales manager Tony Han.
Quote:
Dear all,
The “Video Clip Competition†has been canceled because we simply did not receive any submissions.
I would like to apologize for not announcing anything directly after deadline,
when the due date arrived – there was still hope to get at least one late entry.
It seems the “surprise prize†idea did not motivate enough.
For now we concentrate on the “Coding Competitionâ€
and might reactivate the “Video Clip Competition†at a later time.
The reason why we delayed the coding compo was because we are still working on the English SDK manual guide.
Once it is ready, we will also announce the coding competition.
Some of you might ask news about FunGP too. The site should be open by end of Q1/2010 for developers.
The FunGP store will also hold the SDK manual and other things required programming the Wiz.
Thank you for understanding and a happy new year!
Tony Han
