Powered by a 33.86 MHz MIPS R3000A CPU, a Geometry Transformation Engine (GTE) for 3D processing, and 2 MB of main RAM with 1 MB of VRAM, it outputs resolutions up to 640 x 480 with 16.7 million colors and 24-channel CD-quality audio. It popularized CD-ROMs as the primary software format for games and introduced removable Memory Cards for save data.
