It’s getting closer to November 15th, the official deadline for turning in your original Nintendo Wii homebrew for TehSkeen’s Nintendo Wii Coding Competition. We’ve got a lot of people who’ve voted they will be entering, but as always, we could use more!

This is where you, the average user can help out! As some of you may or may not know, a dirty rat narked out our contest to Paypal and according to them any contest where a random pool of winners are selected falls under their Acceptable Use Policy regarding Gambling. So, we can’t accept donations via Paypal, but we’ve managed to get another way to accept credit cards.

It may be a minor inconvenience to use our new payment method versus Paypal, but to get more fine homebrew coded for the Wii isn’t it worth the little extra bit of trouble (if filling out a credit card form other then using Paypal is trouble to you)? Epic Rocks is a classic arcade game where you have to survive in an asteroid field for as long as possible. The game is only about getting the highest score and is designed for quick, fast gameplay. There are six different levels with various hazards to avoid, four different ships to command and a bunch of special weapons to utilize, including the devestating Beam Saber and the experimental Gravity Mine. DopeWars Wii is a port of the original game for the Palm OS. This version was chosen for its easy to use point and click interface. DopeWars is a turn-based strategy game in which the player simulates the role of a drug dealer. The game’s objective is to make the maximum amount of money within a limited time.

Using Klaxon is pretty straightforward; it’s more or less like the standard Clocks and Alarms application.

Changes:

Removed the upper right default “ok” button from the OpenFileDialog. This prevents users from hitting Ok and closing the dialog when no file has been selected.
Reverted previous change to “dismiss” Windows alarms. This was causing issues on mine and other devices in that the Klaxon Alarm would never show up. In its place, Klaxon now prevents Windows Alarms from flashing, playing sound, or vibrating. The notification will still show up, but at least not it is completely benign.
You can no longer hit the Off or Snooze buttons while the phone’s screen is powered off.
Klaxon will no longer start the OpenFileDialog in the Windows directory to prevent the device from hanging while all the files are listed.

TouchLaunch is simple application launcher, which scans start menu shortcuts, and list them alphabetically. Kind of similar to Scoll Launcher but this has new quick alphabetic scroll function.
