Run To Databay (GB Game)

Run To Databay is a Game Boy game by Fredrik Brundin and Reggie Schildmeijer.

Hunter slammed the cup on the table and nearly spat out his drink. ‘No way,’ he shouts. ‘You went after the Corporation?’

Jammer threw a quick glance around the bar, but to his surprise not one person had turned their head. The old saying is true: “find your way to Databay”.

A smile escapes him as he looks back to Hunter. ‘It is true,’ he says, raising his left hand and pinching his thumb and index finger. ‘I was this close to go in and out without them noticing.’

‘So what went wrong?’ Hunter asked curiously.

‘A small oversight in their security grid, nothing I could have really foreseen. They were applying an out-of-schedule update while I was hacking into their system when they detected an anomaly in their system.’

‘But you still managed to get the data, right?’

Jammer lolled back and raised the drink to his mouth. ‘Of course.’ He took a sip and grinned. ‘I am a System Beast, after all.’

Hunter guffawed loudly and stomped his feet to the ground. With a raised hand he shouted out an order for two more drinks. ‘I saw the land speeder. I have a feeling the story is going to get better.’

Jammer leaned forward. ‘Oh it is,’ he said. ‘Let me tell you about my run to Databay.’

The Faerie Princess (GB Game)

The Faerie Princess by Videlais is a Game Boy game released for bitbitJAM #3.

Based very loosely on the story of Saint George and the Dragon, but, you know, swapping in a princess instead of Saint George. Primarily, other than introductory text, it is a boss battle against a dragon. Get four spear-throws against it and you win. However, allow four fireballs to hurt you, and it’s game over for both you and the princess.

KeePassX v2.0.7.4 (Pandora Application Port)

KeePassX is an application for people with extremly high demands on secure personal data management. It has a light interface, is cross platform and published under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

KeePassX saves many different information e.g. user names, passwords, urls, attachments and comments in one single database. For a better management user-defined titles and icons can be specified for each single entry. Furthermore the entries are sorted in groups, which are customizable as well. The integrated search function allows to search in a single group or the complete database.

KeePassX offers a little utility for secure password generation. The password generator is very customizable, fast and easy to use. Especially someone who generates passwords frequently will appreciate this feature.

The complete database is always encrypted either with AES (alias Rijndael) or Twofish encryption algorithm using a 256 bit key. Therefore the saved information can be considered as quite safe. KeePassX uses a database format that is compatible with KeePass Password Safe. This makes the use of that application even more favorable.

Changes:

– Latest stable version (It should be 2.0.2, hope to correct that with 2.1.0 release).
– Updated sources and libs.

Multi-Platform Coding Competition (misc)

Possibly you miss these multi-platform coding competitions initialized by PDRoms. There were no coding compos organized by PDRoms for ages now, simply there were enough such compos at other places. In cooperation with DragonBox and FlashMasta we will change this together. The coding competition will be also not called “PDRoms Coding Competition” anymore, we will look out for a fancy name, a fancy domain and try to cook up an annual competition with a running time of two to three months. There will be worthy awards and we hope to find the one or other partner to join this to make it something really big. Stay tuned!
