LBreakout2 v2.6.1 (Pandora Game Port)

LBreakout2 is a breakout-style arcade game in the manner of Arkanoid. Use your paddle to aim a ball at bricks until all bricks are destroyed. Lots of power-ups will help you with that task: extra balls, energy balls, extra lifes, weapons, glue, bonus floors, paddle expansion and extra score. Your best results are saved in a highscore chart.

Pandora Hotfix Pack III (Beta) (Pandora misc)

EvilDragon of the Pandora development team released a beta version of the third hotfix pack for the Pandora.

Release notes:

Hi guys!

For the brave Pandora users out there, I have a first Beta for the upcoming Hotfix 3! Be sure to tell me any problems you might encounter.

Here’s the changelog:

Hotfix 3:
* Kernel: Fixed problem with broken sound on some units. Also improved ALSA Buffer Underrun problems
* Kernel Modules: Added USB Sound and Midi Modules
* U-Boot: Fixed LCD timings on Reset (which caused weird dots around the Logo on reboot / Reset)
* U-Boot: Added serial out via USB (ideal for debugging when trying to port new OSes to the Pandora)
* MiniMenu: Added automatic Refresh on SD Card insert and quick navigation using keyboard letters
* Services: Removed unneeded services from Startup – also services most users don’t need (like dropbear, samba, etc.) They can be re-enabled with the new Startup-Settings
* Startup-Settings: Added enabling / disabling services
* New: Added Mass Storage mode via Mini-USB (can be enabled in the System-Menu)
* Automount: Now using Label names (if the card has one) instead of mmcblk*
* Automount: Now using Dirsync instead of sync with 2s Buffer flush. This increased SD Write speed A LOT. However, be sure to wait at least 2 seconds before removing your SD Card after you saved data
* Not yet fixed: PNDs will not run if they have a space in the filename or path (do not use spaces in your SD-Card labels for now!)

There are some things you need to keep in mind if you install that package:

* As the automounter now uses SD Card labels (if available), programs like Exaile or emulators that save the path to your ROM directory have to be re-setup to use the new path. This only needs to be done once. The good thing about this is: Those programs don’t care in which Slot you put the card, as they now use the label (and the label will always stay the same!)

* As there is a bug in pnd_run, you cannot use any PNDs which have spaces in their filenames or path. So don’t label your SD Card “My Pandora Card” or similar – otherwise you can’t run PNDs from there for the moment.

* Services not neccessarily used (like Samba, Dropbear, etc.) will automatically be disabled with that package. If you need them, you can enable them in the new version of the Startup-Settings

Please test if the new stuff works or if we broke anything else.

Be sure to remove any previous HotFix-Package from your SD Card – otherwise, the new one will not show up in the menu!

They Do Not Die v0.2 (Wii Game)

They Do Not Die is top down zombie game!

Release notes:

I know its been over a week and I sorta ruined that streak I had going of frequent posts. I wasn’t really in the mood for programing and replaying Deus Ex is a constant timesink. But I got back into working on They Do Not Die (the Wii version) yesterday and did a bit more today.

You now have a set amount of health which you obviously lose whenever your harmed by zombies. You also have energy which you can use to move faster (just hold down the A button) but if you don’t have any energy left then running will instead consume health. Both your health and energy regenerate.

The camera zooms in and out based on how much remaining health you have. There is some darkness around the borders of the screen which turns red when your losing health.

The iconic arrow sprites from the PC version are now in the game and they rotate and everything. There are now also corpses that get left behind when you kill someone.

When your health hits zero then your sent back to the new start menu from which you can can choose to begin playing again with everything reset.

OpenBOR v3.0.2836 (Wii misc)

OpenBOR (Open Beats of Rage) is an open source engine to play Beats of Rage.

Beats of Rage is a freeware open source video game and moddable game engine made by Senile Team ( http://www.senileteam.com/beatsofrage.html ) and inspired by Sega’s classic Streets of Rage series. The term “moddable” means that the program allows users to create their own content, and thus their own beat-’em-up game, which is then called a “mod”.

Beats of Rage was first made available for download November 2003. It was not advertised in any way other than by word of mouth, yet it soon gained enormous popularity.

Changes:

Significantly improved performance due to further video optimizations by Plombo.
You can now choose in the video options whether to preserve the aspect ratio (using black bars) or stretch the picture to the screen ignoring aspect ratio.
