Overbearing Burgers (01-03-2015) (DC Game)

Overbearing Burgers by Sebastien Mihai is a Sega Dreamcast homebrew game featuring a hungry brown bear. The bear must jump at the right time to not only not hit the rocks on the ground, but also to not miss any of the hamburgers. Overbearing Burgers is very easy to play; the only button used is A, which will make the bear jump.

PPSSPP v1.0.1.0 (PSP emu for Android)

PPSSPP is a PSP emulator written in C++, and translates PSP CPU instructions directly into optimized x86, x64 and (soon) ARM machine code, using an efficient JIT compiler. PPSSPP can thus run on quite low-spec hardware, including stronger Android phones and tablets, as long as there’s support for OpenGL ES 2.0.

Changes:

* Bugfixes like the save state scroll issue, cosmetic issues like overscroll
* Some cheat code bugfixes
* Adler32 and Mersenne Twister modules added (fixes some obscure games)
* Fix for Jak & Daxter slowdown
* Fix compatibility with some PowerVR devices broken since v0.9.5-959-g4998044

Larry the Lemon (Build 37b) (A2600 Game)

Guide Larry the Lemon to collect gifts while being haunted by an enemy. Coded by atari2600land.

Release notes:

I need help. I just didn’t want this to be a timed game, so I decided that if I don’t want it to be a timed game, then I would like to make the banana move gradually faster until a top speed is attained. Say, once every 8 crosses Larry gets, the banana moves faster, just to make this simple. Because I don’t know how to do this, so I need your help. I tried various methods and I just can’t get it to gradually move faster. Here is the code. You have 19 bytes left. I moved around some code and got rid of unnecessary add-ons for this version. Anyone care to help?

Saturnade (19-02-2015) (Sega Saturn Game)

Saturnade by Sebastian Mihai is a Sega Saturn homebrew game inspired by a popular game featuring an avian flapping its wings to pass through the opening between vertical pipes. In Saturnade, the concept is reversed a bit, in that the player controls the opening, rather than the ship.

If the opening gets too close to the bottom of the screen, it will “snap” back and reappear at the top. This is so that the game is not trivialized by waiting for the opening to “land” at the bottom, and then work it upwards from there.

Jagmatch (08-02-2015) (Jaguar Game)

Jagmatch by Sebastian Mihai is an Atari Jaguar homebrew in which the player has to match Atari computers and consoles to games considered most iconic for each system. Essentially, it requires good short-term memory, but also solid long-term memory as far as Atari gaming history is concerned! To reveal a tile, press A on the controller.

Dragon Defense (14-02-2015) (A2600 Game)

In Dragon Defense by Tyler Frisbee, you assume the role of a wizard defending a castle wall against an army of dragons. Each time a dragon hits the wall or blasts it with fire, part of the wall crumbles. If the dragon makes it past the wall or you lose all 3 of your lives, the game is over.

By collecting mana potions (represented by the ball), you are able to cast four different spells. Each spell requires a different amount of mana points. You can cast a shield spell (0 mana points) by pressing the fire button, an attack spell (1 mana point) by moving the joystick to the right while pressing the fire button, a healing spell (4 mana points) which regenerates the 3 lives you begin with by moving the joystick to the left while pressing the fire button, and finally a spell which rebuilds any damage caused to the castle wall (8 mana points) by moving the joystick down while pressing the fire button. You gain a point for every dragon you kill.
