MAME4ALL GP2x v1.6 (Arcade emu for GP2x)

Franxis and team updated their MAME port for GP2x. MAME is a “multiple arcade machine emulator”.

Changes:

– ASM cores are selected automatically (according to an internal compatibility list).
– Several optimizations and hacks have been implemented in the sound cores (selectable with the fast sound option).
– Changes in the Neoร‚ยทGeo memory management to be able to play more games with the limited GP2X RAM (64 MB). Also a separated executable is internally called to play the Neoร‚ยทGames (to gain more RAM). New playable games: aof3, blazstar, fatfury3, kizuna, kof95, kof96, mslug2, ninjamas, pulstar, ragnagrd, rbff1, samsho3, shocktro, whp.
– Raster effects are disabled in some of the Neoร‚ยทGeo games to gain speed.
– Optimizations in M72 games (R-Type, Hammerin’ Harry, Ninja Spirit, etc).
– Several optimizations in memory handlers, sprites, tilemaps, timers and CPU interfaces.
– Sound fixed in some games (e.g. Frogger). Also some hang ups are solved.
– Psycho Nicks Oscar fixed.

Bunjalloo v0.7.2 (NDS Application)

Bunjalloo is a web browser for the Nintendo DS. It under active development, and can already display simple pages, follow links and view images.

Changes:

– Update code for devkitARM r24
– Italian localisation courtesy of Paolo Ferraresi

Automatic DLDI patching of downloaded NDS files from within zips no longer works. I’ll remove the option in the next release. I can no longer test patching, as my card’s firmware auto patches anyway. If this is a feature you really need… er.. sorry!

maketens v0.01 (NDS Game)

bob_fossil released his game maketens for Nintendo DS.

Quote:

Mankind’s oldest enemy, the decimal numbers 1 to 5 have launched another audacious attack and it’s up to you to stop them. They have one weakness – they self destruct when they are combined to make the number ten. Select numbers with the stylus and make tens to save the world.

As you will gather after playing this game, it is the result of a couple of hours coding. It is also an ‘homage’ to a game I recently saw some video footage from. ๐Ÿ™‚

– Numbers have to be on the same horizontal line and add up to 10.
– All hope is lost when the numbers break through the top of the screen.

XM7Play (29-12-2008) (NDS Application)

XM7Play by sverx is a simple XM player based on libxm7.

Quote:

Hi! I’ve spent some hours these days to build this little tool (…forgive the UI…) that plays XMs directly from your FAT device. It’s twice useful:

– it gives you a chance to listen to your XMs on the DS before you incorporate them in your project
– it gives me a chance to have some feedback (so please let me know if some modules doesn’t load / doesn’t play correctly)

Up, down, left and right keys navigate the directory, A enter directory / load the XM file, B to stop it.

The C source code to load XM from file to memory is included in the ZIP, which is here, in case somebody want to write its own player (hint! hint! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
