OpenIntents v0.1.6 (Android misc)

Imagine your Android “cookbook” application tells you to buy eggs, ginger, and cardamom, your “birthday reminder” application suggests you to buy a blue tulip (for a friend who loves the color blue), and your computer at home notifies your mobile phone that the color cartridge of your printer is almost empty. Would you like to receive three notifications by three different programs next time you are close to a supermarket? Or rather have them all store that information in your central shopping list? (by the way, your internet auction application that watches the central shopping list has already found an interesting offer for that blue tulip…)

Imagine you have to specify for a handful of programs (the favorite “ring-tone selector” application, your “answering machine”, your “smart to-do list”, your “calendar”, your “work time log”, …) where your “home”, your “office”, “gym”, “music school”, etc. is located by specifying the latitude and longitude or the corresponding street address for each of these applications. Would you not rather have a central place for your favorite locations that all applications can easily share?

(Many more ideas can be found on our list of ideas)

Keep your one great idea a secret that could make you win the Android Developer Challenge, but share those obvious and common ideas that you encounter while implementing and that you think could be used in many other applications as well. We will develop the most-required components together (e.g. a central shopping list), so you can concentrate on implementing your core idea (e.g. the weight-watching cookbook) while having interoperability with many other great OpenIntents applications built in right from the start.

Join this project if you have great ideas to share or if you are a good developer and look for a low-risk project.

Gianas Return WIP (GP2x Game)

World 4 has been tested and declared as almost bugfree. There seems to be a bee which does not behave as it should, but with some modification, everything should go, or fly, it’s way

As soon as we have the modified clouds, we _might_ consider taking a video, but the chance of “more screenshots” is slightly higher.

FW v2.0-240d deflowered (iPhone misc)

The iPhone Dev Team has sorted how to unlock the latest firmware Apple has seeded to developers (240d), just a few days after it was released.

Quote:

Due to gray’s initial RCE of the baseband, and combined with a neutered bootloader, unlocking recent and future basebands has been reduced to a simple byte search.

MobileTwitter v1.5 (iPhone Application)

MobileTwitter is an iPhone/iPod Touch client for Twitter.

Changes:

The Update View has been redesigned and moved. It is no longer on the button bar at the bottom of the screen, but exists on the top right corner of every view. Clicking the รขโ‚ฌล“Updateรขโ‚ฌย button will slide the update view down over your current view. No more mis-clicking on buttons while going for the spacebar.

Settings view reorganized, with new options

Enable/Disable secure connections. This was enabled by default under the hood, but some users are experiencing connection problems, disabling secure connections may help.

MobileTwitter now automatically checks for new @replies and direct messages, displaying the new number on the button bar for Messages. The รขโ‚ฌล“Messagesรขโ‚ฌย view has been updated to show this count, and also include the รขโ‚ฌล“>รขโ‚ฌย arrow for each menu option. Any new @replies will show up with a blue sphere beside them (similar to MobileMail.app and new messages)

New menu option when tapping tweets: View userรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs tweets. This loads the users 20 most recent tweets.

New springboard icon.

Black UI

Manual รขโ‚ฌล“Reloadรขโ‚ฌย button on each tab

Smaller font for tweets seems to help with fitting all the text in one box hopefully no more trailing รขโ‚ฌล“รขโ‚ฌยฆรขโ‚ฌยs on tweet texts.

Manually reloading a view will now make sure the view scrolls to the top

Public Timeline renamed to รขโ‚ฌล“Everyoneรขโ‚ฌย in accordance with Twitter.com changes

Many under the hood core changes.

rRootage v1.0 (iPhone Game)

This game is similar NOIZ2SA (Yep, another shootemup!). The main menu allows you to choose from four different games modes and 10 levels with-in each game mode. Once you select which game mode and level you would like, just two finger tap to enter the game. You can move your little guy at the bottom by dragging it around. The objective of the game is to shoot the รขโ‚ฌล“thingรขโ‚ฌย at the top without getting killed. You can two finger tap to set off bombs (they look more like shields to me!). The game play is smooth and the graphics are sweet!

Wiki2Touch v0.65 (iPhone Application)

Wiki2Touch is an open source wikipedia server/reader for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch.

Changes:

Template caching works without any change of rights now for firmware 1.1.3/1.1.4, too. If youรขโ‚ฌโ„ขve not modified anything in the past while using 0.60 together with firmware 1.1.3/1.1.4 you will see the articles now displayed much faster once the template is cached.

Support for #expr/#ifexpr parser functions. Have a look at articles like รขโ‚ฌล“2008? (the year 2008). Mainly all the links in the head area are computed by the use these new functions.
Preliminary math support: At least the text from the math-tags is extracted and displayed with a gray background for better readability and the math symbol รขโ‚ฌล“Piรขโ‚ฌย is displayed as the Greek symbol. Nothing else.

More than 30 changes for better rendering support. The changes covering smaller issues like to much spaces or line feeds, correct handling of headlines, reference lists and enumerations, up to the support of sometimes very complex templates (i.e. in the English edition articles like รขโ‚ฌล“Al Goreรขโ‚ฌย or รขโ‚ฌล“George Washingtonรขโ‚ฌย. And a bug which crashed the server was also removed.
