ScummVM v1.8.1 (misc)

ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!

Some of the adventures ScummVM supports include Adventure Soft’s Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Revolution’s Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; Wyrmkeep’s Inherit the Earth; Coktel Vision’s Gobliiins; Westwood Studios’ The Legend of Kyrandia and games based on LucasArts’ SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more. You can find a thorough list with details on which games are supported and how well on the compatibility page. ScummVM is continually improving, so check back often.

Leona’s Tricky Adventures (DC Game) (Commercial)

Leona’s Tricky Adventures is inspired by a clever puzzle game mechanic which was briefly explored in the very early 90s but sadly faded from prominence shortly after. The basic task is to match two increasingly complex patterns using increasingly complex mechanics. While it can’t be directly compared to any contemporary game the mental skills required by the puzzles put them somewhere in between “Picross” and “Bejeweled.

The game can now be bought for only 29.90 EUR excluding shipping but is also available via Steam for Windows!

Release notes (from Facebook Retroguru):

Indiket had to update our ‪#‎Dreamcast‬ port of Xump. With the last update we unfortunately introduced a mini-bug with the highscore. Please get ‪#‎Xump‬ v1.01.1 (zipped ISO) and don’t forget to delete the VMU save-file before playing the updated version. As usual thanks to Xavier for his efficient and fast update!

Fruit’Y

Fruit’Y – Playing with edibles is heavily inspired by the Kaiko classic Gem’X, which has been seen on computers such as the Commodore Amiga 500, Commodore 64 and Atari ST. The game consists of two boards of fruits. The left field belongs to a cute tiger who needs to reproduce the right field 1:1 being able to proceed to the next level. Sounds easy?! Possibly it does, at least for the first few levels!

Volgarr the Viking (13-10-2015) (DC Game)

Playing as Volgarr the Viking, use your sword and spear to slaughter your foes in bloody combat. Battle Gigantic bosses in every world and find secrets that lead to unknown paths. Holding onto Volgarr’s gear is key; his very life depends on it!

Volgarr the Viking Trailer: Become a Viking Legend!

The Dreamcast version is Freeware but if you appreciate the game for Dreamcast you might want to buy the commercial version from Steam? The game is available to buy for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (requires SteamOS).

Changelog:

* (Taron) Added support for Achievement and Records tracking
* (Taron) Fixed World 4 Boss Theme music sometimes not playing
* (Taron) Added support for graphics clip rects (scissor test), to hide elements that aren’t supposed to be visible (most notably the treasure pile being visible under the floor in the Home Base room).
* (Taron) Fade out between maps is now properly fading to/from Black instead of White
* (Taron) Swapped the order of the Water and Undead worlds to restore the original intended order of those Worlds (they are only out of order on other platforms due to late tester feedback and they were never swapped back due to not wanting to mess up Leaderboard scores, which doesn’t apply here).
