Sun Microsystems is developing a Java Virtual Machine for Apple’s iPhone and plans to release the JVM some time after June, enabling Java applications to run on the popular mobile device.
The JVM is to be based on the Java Micro Edition (ME) version of Java, said Eric Klein, vice president of Java marketing at Sun, on Friday afternoon. Apple had not shown interest in enabling Java to run on the iPhone, but Sun plans to step in and do the job itself after having pondered Thursday’s release of an SDK for the iPhone by Apple.

Chess is Gogosoft’s first application for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Chess matches you with other players over the internet, so you must have an active data connection.

This is a weight watchers points calculator, pretty basic but it does the job. Both the US and the UK systems are included, and Jiggy runtime is required for it to run.

The iPhone SDK includes the Xcode IDE, Instruments, iPhone simulator, frameworks and samples, compilers, Shark analysis tool, and more. Free sign up as a Registered iPhone Developer required to download the iPhone SDK.
Technical Requirement: Intel processor-based Mac running Mac OS X Leopard.

colloQ is an improved IRC client for the iPhone, based upon mColloquy.
Release notes:
After a hiatus from coding, I recently got back to it and fixed the extended ASCII characters bug! This fix is so important that I decided not to spend time with any more fixes or enhancements and release it right away. It is available on Cydia now, and will be available on Installer very soon.
