2600Tris (19-11-2009) (A2600 Game)

atari2600land has updated his two player simultaneous play variant of a very well known russian block game. The game was previously known as “Tetris”.

Release notes:

Fixed a problem in the previous version where if you got over 100 lines and went through the sequence the score reverted back to 000 at the title screen. Minor update, but I just thought I should post it in case someone cares.

LynGOO v1.2 WIP (Atari Lynx emu for Dingoo)

Spiller has been improving his Atari Lynx emulator LynGOO. This emulator is written for native Dingoo and does not require any Dingoo Linux (Dingux) install.

Here are Spiller’s recent thoughts about v1.2:

Decision taken: LynGOO 1.2 is not going to be overclocking by default anymore. My initial thought was that the Dingoo was underclocked just to preserve battery, but it seems I was wrong. Some people have Dingoos which do not run stable at 400MHz because of heat problems. The TV out problem is interesting as well. It may mean that the TV out has to be reinitialized / synced after changing the CPU speed or it may mean that the TV out doesn’t work at all when overclocked.

I will do my ultimate best to squeeze a bit more performance out of LynGOO and see if I can run even more games at 100% without overclocking. Handy was not designed for performance however. Also the framerate for the problem games (Shadow of the Beast, Chip’s Challenge) most often is 75 FPS which is quite high. The frameskip option in Handy is worthless too; the only thing it does is stop the emulator from outputting a frame to the screen, all effort put into painting that frame has already been done by that time.

GTA Pokemon (19-11-2009) (NDS Game)

Mozzie, author of GTA Pokemon, claims that his game is complete now. Now go and kill the poor Pokemons! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is also the first homebrew we spot which is a potential double copyright infrigment. Coders should really step away from using copyrighted brand names…

Spraih (07-11-2009) (GP2x Game)

Spraih is an attempt to imitate old classic trading simulations, such as known from Amiga and C64.

Currently you are able to:

* Work as doormen and earn money
* Spend money by buying food
* having a bath
* eat food
* have some sleep

Of course everything is extremly basic at the moment. The coder is seeking for testers.

Server overload (misc)

Major french webpages are currently linking to PDRoms. This started at about 10:20am. The server was not able to handle the requests.

EvilDragon of OpenPandora fame ( http://openpandora.org/ ) gave us a helping hand to sort things out. Everything should at least run a lot better than before!

Happy browsing ๐Ÿ™‚

USB-Ethernet for Wiz (Wiz misc)

Wiz developers will be happy to read that their life is getting a bit easier. Read on:

Quote from EvilDragon:

hcf did it – although it only was a small patch, it makes developing for the WIZ so much more comfortable!

hcf created a small program for the WIZ, which enables USB-Ethernet using the stock WIZ USB cable. This does mean, that it is now possible to copy files over directly to the WIZ, run them via command line and see the debug output. The same way it worked on the GP2X F100.
