Allegro is a game programming library for C/C++ developers distributed freely. It provides many functions for graphics, sounds, player input (keyboard, mouse and joystick) and timers. It also provides fixed and floating point mathematical functions, 3d functions, file management functions, compressed datafile and a GUI.
Developer Diedel finally brought the long awaited Allegro to the Playstation Portable.
Release notes:
It’s based on the 4.3.10plus Allegro version. It’s near complete and ready to use for the final programmer.
Now you can program your PSP applications using Allegro and try to port the existing ones: http://www.allegro.cc/As a young port it needs much testing so your feedback is expected and welcome. You can use the Allegro maling lists at http://alleg.sourceforge.net/maillist.html or the PS2dev forums. The spanish speakers can post in the PSP.SceneBeta forums.
Until the Allegro SVN repository is not updated with the PSP port patch you can download the Allegro library sources in the links section.
Thanks to MK2k ( http://www.mk2k.net ) for the news.

Pickle released an engine port, which can be used to play Wolfenstein 3D.
Because Wolfenstein 3D is showing swastika’s during ingame, we can not provide any links as it would be against german law. In particular it would be against paragraph 86 StGB “Verbreiten von Propagandamitteln verfassungswidriger Organisationen”.
Allthough this is just an engine port of Wolfenstein 3D, the game itself is still indexed.
Pickle manged to get SDL Quake II running on Wiz. For now it seems to start up, but trashes your framebuffer.

Here is a package of stuff you need to get started developing for the Wiz under Linux. It is derived from Open2x.
Copy the config file as .config into a crosstool-ng 1.2.4 setup and build the toolchain with that. Then run the library build script.
It isn’t very well tested yet, but if your stuff builds with this it will probably work on an OpenWiz FW.

For anybody who already has a Wiz, here is something to try if you are bored. For everybody else, maybe it will be interesting to look at, who knows?
libcastor is a small library designed to give direct hardware access under Linux on the Wiz. Somewhat similar to Minimal Library on the GP2X, however it is a bit simpler to use and doesn’t require that you include the source into your tree (so if there were a hardware update and you had dynamically linked for example, a new library could simply be copied over to deal with any changes).
It is currently usable, though not complete (no alpha blending etc.). The README has a bit of information, though the documentation it refers to does not yet exist . Just look through
