Hero Core GBA by evanbowman is an action and adventure game, redone for GBA. The original game ‘Hero Core’ has been originally made by Daniel Remar. The GBA version is still in development.
The game follows a Flip Hero, who returns for the final battle against his nemesis, Cruiser Tetron. Like the first game, the controls are very simple and the gameplay is easy to learn. The non-linear game world allows you to tackle the boss machines in nearly any order, or head straight for Tetron’s headquarters at the center of the asteroid if you’re skilled enough. Your objectives in the game include:
- Primary objective: Defeat your nemesis, Cruiser Tetron.
- Secondary objective: Level up by destroying Tetron’s boss machines.
- Tertiary objective: Collect all ten core computers scattered across the map.
Attack on Voxelburg by nuclear is an action Gameboy Advance game for the GBAJam22.
You need to fly over 3D terrain, find and destroy all enemy defense pods, before they manage to shoot you down. Your final score depends on the time it took to take out all the enemy pods, and the damage you sustained. If you want to avoid enemy fire, either wait until its weapon has charged up and is ready to shoot, or shoot it first to disrupt the charging process. The jam version of the game doesn’t have music, sound effects, a high score table, and is basically a prototype. But it’s playable, and the voxel landscape engine runs reasonably fast on the GBA.
MineBoyAdvance by sulsadood is a survival game and is a submission for GBA Jam 2022.
It is a 2D voxel game inspired by Minecraft. You can hold the ‘Right Trigger’ to aim down and hold the ‘Left Trigger’ to aim up. You can press ‘Select’ and ‘Start’ to pick inventory items shown on the left and right screen. Hold A + Start + Select for 3 seconds and a new random world will be generated on restart. Chunks are only saved when you place 3 blocks or place a special block.
The Enchanted Place by VideoGameStoryTime is a visual novel made for GBAJam22.
This game is a visual novel about saying goodbye. You play as a teddy bear and help him by making choices about fate and destiny. The game doesn’t have any sound, which makes it more melancholic.
Lane by setsquare is a card game and a submission to GBA Jam 2022.
In this game you place, push, and pick cards to get points. After taking your turn, the other player has a turn. You win when you have 4 cards next to the red starting cards. To understand the rules better, follow these points:
To place a card:
Select the card from your hand using left and right and press A to choose the card.
To push a card:
Press L to enter push mode. A valid push must change the board.
To pick a card:
Press R to enter pick mode. Select one of your own cards and press A.

The game is a simple first to 9 wins experience against a rudimentary computer opponent. It’s like the classic game Pong that we all know and love, except the classic level boundaries shift around, meaning the ball doesn’t behave at all how you might predict it would. So it gets frustrating in between, but as long as you hold a grip, no challenge can outrun you!
Coin Fall by 3DSage is an inspired 3D platformer obstacle game for the GBA.
You play as an arcade coin that needs to get to the end of the course in under 60 seconds. The following categories include the limitations of per seconds:
- Bronze metal 30-40 seconds
- Silver metal 20-30 seconds
- Gold metal under 20 seconds
If you collect all 4 gold metals, you can unlock 2X speed and jumping. To cross a further distance, you can double jump if you walk off a surface. Your best time will be displayed over each level, so you can continue to optimize your speed running.
Loco-Coco by Rajcsányi László is a retro action game, made with GB Studio.
Save your people and fellow passengers on this daring journey, clinging to the roof of a speeding coach. There are 12 screens in the game. You have to use your skills to maneuver over the roof of each one. To complete a level, walk off the left-hand side of the screen. Move with ‘left/right’ and use ‘b’ to jump up. It’s up to you to make this perilous journey successful.
