Memory Leak by Moracan is a puzzle game made for PICO-8.

In this game, your job is to keep your company’s database clean and neatly organized. However, someone tampered with it, and the data has been erased. Using the hints on the sides of the database, fill the database with the correct data in each spot and restore it to its former glory. This game is similar to Sudoku, in that there can only be one tile of each height in each row and column. To fill the heights, you need to use the hints at the sides; these hints tell you how many towers are “visible” when looking at the board from that side. Higher towers cover smaller ones. The game has some visual cues to let you know what’s happening:

• A black tile indicates that the tile is repeated in its row or column. Only 1 tile of each height can be on each row or column.
• A grey hint indicates that it has been solved. A row or column with both hints of gray is considered solved.
• A red hint indicates that the row is full, but it has not been solved.

On the main screen, you can set the board size. The default size is 5×5 tiles, but you can make it 3×3, 4×4 or 6×6 tiles as well, if you’d like. 3×3 is incredibly easy, while 6×6 might be too complicated, or straight up impossible.​

PicoRoots by LogerGrunt is a puzzle strategy game made for PICO-8.

In this game you will control a plant trying to reach a seed at the bottom of a level. You must grow roots to navigate through the soil and avoid obstacles such as rocks. The plant must also balance its hydration levels by absorbing water and avoiding dehydration. You must collect vitamins scattered throughout the levels to ensure the plant’s growth and survival. This game tests your skills and strategy as you try to reach the coveted seed.​

Lapine by PlayMedusa is a short arcade game made for PICO-8. This game was made for the Global Game Jam 2023. The theme was ‘Roots’.

In this game you will play as a bunny and enjoy a simple life. Eat carrots, run away from the farmer and have fun. You can run around using arrow keys. Unroot carrots by quickly tapping ‘Z’, but take care, don’t break them. Be fast! You don’t want the farmer to catch you. Hide in the bushes or run behind him to avoid being caught.​

Your goal in this game is to catch the enemy’s boulder, but don’t let your trebuchet get hit. Use the left and right arrow keys to move but watch out for the flags that limit how far you can go.

The world is under attack and only you can save it. Take control of the world’s most powerful musical weapon ‘The SigNul’ and stave off the attackers for as long as you can. To play the game smoothly, you can remember the following controls:

• [Up]/[Down] – To change the signal and change the tune.
• [X]/[Z] – Start the game, or restart after the game is over.
• Each note in the signal tune causes the corresponding turret to shoot.
• Score by shooting down the alien attackers.
• If an alien attacker makes it to a turret, you lose a life.
• The more you score, the faster the game gets.
• The game is over when you’ve lost all your lives.​
