OpenDUNE v0.7 (Pandora Port misc)

OpenDUNE is an open source re-creation of the popular game “Dune II”, originally made by Westwood Studios, and released by Virgin Entertainment. Star J1 (WIP) (Genesis Game)

MegaFamilyBros v1.0 (SNES Game)

dieudunet presents his first public version of “MegaFamilyBros”. The game is supposed to be a Jump’n’Run game, combining the gameplay of “Megaman” and “Super Mario”. The graphics are unfortunately not original but ripped from various others.

DSx86 v0.35 (Beta) (DOS emu for NDS)

DSx86 is a PC/DOS emulator for Nintendo DS written by Patrick Aalto. It’s purpose is to allow you to run old DOS games on your Nintendo DS game console. Some of the older games run quite good and bring back memories.

Changes:

This version has the following fixes and improvements:
– Fixed a rare memory access problem introduced in version 0.30. This affected
Dune 2 and possibly also other games.
– Fixed a register globbering problem in mouse callback routine, which caused
Populous 2 to quit to DOS immediately after moving the mouse.
– Fixed an unsupported INT call and hanging problem in Battle Bugs.
– Improved PC Speaker audio handling and VGA 640×480 mode handling.

DSx86 v0.12 (Beta) (DOS emu for NDS)

DSx86 is a PC emulator for Nintendo DS. It’s purpose is to allow you to run old DOS games on your Nintendo DS game console.

Changes:

New EGA 640x350x16 and VGA 640x480x16 graphics modes.
The NDS shoulder buttons scroll the zoomed screen left/right (as before) when not already at the edge, and up/down after that.
Fixed Master of Orion SB digital audio problems.
Changed EGA text output to use INT43 vector (fixes text problems in Space Quest I, etc).
Fixed EGA Read Mode 1 handling (DOUBOLO).
Improved EGA palette handling (ZOOL).
Fixed WC2 savegame handling, which was broken by the DUNE2 savegame handling fix. They call the same DOS function, but expect it to behave differently. Argh!
Added support for INT03 (see previous blog post) and INTO (overflow interrupt).
Implemented Mode-X VGA offset handling (Alien Breed, Traffic Department 2192).
Implemented diskette motor counter handling to INT8 (should fix Civilization hang problem).
Added about a dozen new EGA graphics opcodes.
Added about a dozen new Mode-X graphics opcodes.
Added support for several new DOS and Mouse interrupts.
Added support for several new I/O ports.
Added most of the previously missing characters to the 6×8 text mode font.
Attempt to avoid writing duplicate entries to the debug log.
Ignore SB Direct DAC output for now, pending proper implementation.

DSx86 v0.11 (DOS emu for NDS)

DSx86 is a PC emulator for Nintendo DS. It’s purpose is to allow you to run old DOS games on your Nintendo DS game console.

Changes:

Mouse emulation using the touchpad. If you have not mapped the SELECT key to a PC key, it works as a toggle to swap the screens so that you can use the stylys as a mouse directly on the emulated PC screen.
EMS memory increased to 1.5MB. Problems in the EMS memory access have not been fixed yet, so this version might run certain games (for example Wing Commander 2) worse than the previous version.
Proper DOS “System File Table” handling. This was needed for the file handle duplication functions, and this is also a requirement for improved DOS device handling (including console I/O) in upcoming versions. This also fixes problems with the 4DOS @select function.
Preliminary support for EGA mode 0x0E (640x200x16). Not properly tested, but some games might work in this mode.
Fixed a bug in Mode-X MOVSB opcode (MOO).
Fixed a bug in DOS CONSOLE INPUT function (Ultima V).
Fixed DUNE 2 save game problem.
Added opcode “repe scasw” down (for real this time!)
Ignore port 0xB8B I/O (GOBLINS, MOO INSTALL).
Support input from port 0x3CE (FD, MOO).
Added Mode-X opcodes LODSB and LODSW (MOO).
Several new EGA opcodes supported (BL, CARRIER, START, WARET, SH, WC1, B2, CALGAMES).
Support DOS functions 0x45 and 0x46 (DUP – DUPLICATE FILE HANDLE) (4DOS).
Support DOS functions 0x27 and 0x28 (RANDOM BLOCK I/O FROM FCB FILE) (Ultima II).
