OpenTTD is an open source clone of the Microprose game “Transport Tycoon Deluxe”, a popular game originally written by Chris Sawyer. It attempts to mimic the original game as closely as possible while extending it with new features.
Release notes:
In a strange turn of events, I landed up porting OpenTTD to the current v2.x.x series of firmwares for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Reason being I have been recovering from being sick for over a week. Luckily I found some extra time last night to get a nice port of the latest SVN sources of OpenTTD done! What is OpenTTD you ask? Well it’s just the coolest game based off of Transport Tycoon Deluxe’s sourcecode! What’s Transport Tycoon Deluxe you say?! It’s a game by the maker of Rollercoaster Tycoon, Chris Sawyer, and is similar in feel to SimCity. It has great graphics, a huge community/following, and has trains. Nuff said. 🙂
You can grab OpenTTD v2.0.0 for the iPhone and iPod Touch on Cydia, right off of my built-in public source, by looking in the Games section.
Changes:
Updated for firmware 2.x.x!
Now you can use multitouch for right clicking and scrolling.
Full screen hardware scaling.
Sound effects sound great.
Network play works (server must support all OpenTTD revisions).
Tons of bug fixes and optimizations!
