Franxis updated MAM4ALL for GP2x and Wiz. MAME stands for “multiple arcade machine emulator”.
Changes:
– GP2X WIZ version improvements:
Added MMU Hack kernel module by Notaz. It gives more performance.
Added more CPU frequencies selectable in the frontend.
MENU button is fire button in rotated video mode.
Option to draw the screen rotated to fix the diagonal line but with impact in the performance.
– Some optimizations and bug-fixes in the timers.
– Less frame-skip is applied (changed the threshold to consider full speed in the auto-frameskip code, from 99% to 92%).
– Slaanesh added discrete sound system. So far only Canyon Bomber has been updated. It now has sound but it is slow.

brakken has just published his review of the GP2X WiZ an open source portable video gaming and entertainment console. This smaller then the Nintendo DS console features playback of video, music, viewing pictures, reading text and voice recording. It also features an organic LED touch screen display, microphone, USB v2.0 port, 1GB of interal NAND and a lot more!
Also, unlike the “other” device it is available now and costs 1/3 of what the big “P” will cost. However, like any indie console it does have some faults. So why not head over to the review and check it out. Then when you’re done leave your comments in the discussion thread (linked in the review).

Here comes the MMUHack as Kernel module. Use it exactly the same as you use it on F100/F200. Tested on 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 kernels.
