Lugaru (pronounced Loo-GAH-roo) is the predecessor to Overgrowth. It is a DRM-free, third-person action game available for Mac, Windows, and Linux. The main character, Turner, is an anthropomorphic rebel bunny rabbit with impressive combat skills. In his quest to find those responsible for slaughtering his village, he uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt leaders of the rabbit republic and the starving wolves from a nearby den. Turner takes it upon himself to fight against their plot and save his fellow rabbits from slavery.

Cave Lizard by syrupneko is a simple one screen game inspired by the classic game POOYAN. Shoot the balloons to knock your enemies down from the sky before they can land on the ground to steal your gold and ultimately invade your cave. Press Z to shoot, and use up/down keys to move up and down.

Escape From Caladan is resetreboot’s second game for PICO-8. This time he went for a Xenon 2 type of vertical shooter, but the music could be improved. The premise is simple, kill enough enemies so you can escape from the level and then confront the boss. To do so, you have your stolen prototype ship, trying to jump back to Earth and safety. You’ve got ahead of yourself five levels, with each their own boss, and armed with five weapon levels to get away. The game also records high scores arcade style.
