SNES4iPhone v1.5.0 WIP (SNES emu for iPhone)

News from ZodTTD regarding his Super Nintendo Entertainment System / Super Famicom emulator for iPhone.

Quote:

snes4iphone v1.5.0 has now been released to beta testers at ZodTTD.com. This build is very special as it marks what is soon to be a trend in the following weeks…performance increases! This is largely due to the great strides saurik made while updating the tools I use to develop with. With some fixes I’ve made plus the new toolchain, some users have reported a 50% increase in performance of snes4iphone!

PSX4iPhone v0.2.0 (PSX emu for iPhone)

PSX4iPhone is a Playstation 1 emulator for iPhone devices.

Release notes:

In part with updating my older projects with the newer firmwares for iPhone/iPod Touch such as 1.1.3 and higher, I have released psx4iphone v0.2.0 publicly.
psx4iphone is a Sony Playstation 1 emulator for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s a large work in progress type project. It is based on the psx4all project.
You can grab this release from the ZodTTD.com Public Installer.app repo source.
ZodTTD.com on Installer.app download instructions: http://www.zodttd.com/forum/index.php/topic,574.0.html
What’s new in v0.2.0:
– Added support to firmwares such as 1.1.3 and 1.1.4.
– Compiled with saurik’s new toolchain.
– Fixed the detection of whether frameskipping can be used during certain frames within a game.
– Improved the dynamic recompiler code.
– Moved the BIOS location to /var/(mobile or root depending on firmware)/Media/ROMs/PSX/

This release brings up to 50% more performance than previous releases. Though going from 25 FPS to 37 FPS isn’t going to cut it, it’s still an improvement. Most games are running at about 20-30 FPS it seems. I’m not quite sure why the iPhone is running psx4all slower than most handhelds of equal or lesser raw CPU power. It may be due to the way the iPhone/iPod Touch clears it’s instruction cache via sys_invalidate_icache(…) or it could be due to the read speed of the ISO’s. Maybe both. Either way more work has to be done to see whats bottlenecking the iPhone and this application.

Feel free to discuss and ask questions about psx4iphone at the zodttd.com forums here:

Thanks and hope to see you in the forums!

Homebrew Channel (Beta) (Wii Application)

A custom Wii channel created by Team Twiizers, the same people responsible for the Twilight Hack. It allows homebrew to be run from the SD card in a similar fashion to the Twilight Hack, but from the Wii menu, so is more convenient. Currently the Wii Homebrew Channel available for public release is a beta. Currently it allows ten minutes of usage before expiring. Once the channel has expired, it cannot be reinstalled, so it’s suggested you use the allocated ten minutes wisely.

Installation:

Assuming the Twilight Hack is already installed on your Wii;

Download the installer from the section below.
Place the installer file on the root of your SD card.
Rename the file to boot.elf
Run the Twilight Hack, and allow the installer to load.
READ THE DISCLAIMER! In the very unlikely case your Wii should be bricked by the installer, this will let you know where you stand in regards to Team Twiizers.
Press the RESET button on your Wii.
The installation should be automatic from this point on, and your Wii will reboot.

The Homebrew Channel is the new channel with no skin/theme.
