We are a little late reporting about the astonishing (unofficial) release of Eye of the Beholder for the Commodore 64 from earlier this week.
The game itself has been released as open source and is the hard work of a few, mostly well known C64 sceners. As Eye of the Beholder is a game everyone should know, we won’t go further into detail, but would highly recommend you to play it. This C64 version comes with extra features, which were not available in the original. The graphics artists did pure black magic, the code is smooth and the music fits the purpose.

The objects have particular characteristics, collecting the game toys will be essential to get the happy end but every time we collect one, the time will be divided in half. You need to collect all the disks and take them to the computer to open the exit door to the next level. Mahjong by Under4Mhz is a classic board game. This game has several builds for different systems, this one here is for ColecoVision.

Jonathan – Trick or Treat 48K by ZXAMAZE is an action arcade game made for ZX Spectrum.
It’s Halloween night and strange things are happening. You play as Jonathan and have been transformed into a shadowy, ghostly head and transported into your own game world. You must float and bounce around collecting enough treats to rescue Egghead, who has been imprisoned. Avoid the other ghostly figures as too much contact will increase the trick level until it’s game over. Once enough treats have been collected, you will be directed back to Egghead to release your old friend.
Untitled by Color TV is a role playing game made with GB Studio.
This is a simple adventure game where you explore and collect different items. You talk with people around the village, visit shops, explore gardens and homes. While you progress through each level, you will come across many enemies. Avoid them or kill them by jumping on them. Each level will build up the whole story.
Ramiro III by The Mojon Twins is a platformer game for the Amstrad CPC, but also for another system.
The story of the game follows a vampire who has to bring home some mushrooms from a far-off forest named “Cheshire”. These bloody mushrooms are needed for his vampire adolescent daughters who are hungry and need this cure to soothe their hunger. Travel on a journey to far-off lands, explore many levels, defeat your foes and come back in time with your cure to save your daughters.
Kardinal Kid by J Bizzel is a puzzle strategy game made for ZX Spectrum. This game is quite different, but mostly inspired by “Numbertron”.
The goal of this game, as explained by the author: “You need to move a little dog around in a ‘maze’ of numbers. If you play with hearts or diamonds switched on, then you need to jump over these objects to progress. Each level has a number of objects you must jump in order to get to the next level. After you have jumped to the required amount, you can allow yourself to die to move to the next level. Hearts mode alone will be more of a challenge. You can make the game easier by playing with diamonds. Or there is a casual mode with both hearts and diamonds turned off. Toggle the options and explore so which game mode suites you.”
