Dots Free v1.03 (iPhone Game)

Dots and Boxes is a very simple game. Two players take turns drawing lines between dots on the game board. When a player draws a line that completes a box, the player “owns” that box. Whoever owns more boxes when the game board is full is the winner.

Dots Free supports one player and two player gameplay, so you can play against another human or against your iPhone. If you’re really bored, you can even put the game in computer vs. computer mode and watch your iPhone play itself.

Other game features include: configurable player names, a scoreboard showing number of boxes and game won for each player, killer graphics, and exciting sound effects.

Dots Free is supported by unobtrusive banner advertising.

Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe DC r12185m (DC Game Port)

Steven H. ported the game Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, an open source clone of Chris Sawyer’s Transport Tycoon Deluxe to Dreamcast.

Release notes:

So, after a few grueling weeks of screwing around with the KOS libraries (KallistOS) I managed to compile and run the latest revision of OTTD.

It’s been more of an educational experience than anything else and runs like crap [at around 70% speed] (the 200mhz SH4 CPU seems to struggle) but it’s been a lot of fun…
I have CD images in DiscJuggler format (self-booting) of the latest version but due to dependencies that don’t exist off-the-shelf I don’t think this should ever be included in the trunk… I mean, does anyone still have DC with Mouse and Keyboard?

… on that note, the controller can be used… but it’s not as much fun.

gpspDC (27-09-2008) (GBA emu for DC)

Maturion ( http://www.dcfan.net.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=1670 ) pointed me at a not before recognized release of gpspDC, a Gameboy Advance emulator for Dreamcast.

It’s based upon GPF’s work and has been continued by alex.

Grab the update and enjoy, many things do work a lot faster (but still not fullspeed).

PS: The illustration screenshot shows a commercial game in action and does not come from PDRoms. You are free to test the emulators with many many free GBA games which are freeware and directly available here. As homebrew games are usually coded in a “lighter” way there is also a big chance of having them playable in a proper and acceptable speed.

OpenCellClient (09-12-2008) (PPC Application)

This application is a scanner for the open service http://www.opencellid.org. This project wants to create a complete database of CellID worldwide, with their locations.

This is very useful for a lot of things, working like a “second GPS”, for devices without build in GPS receiver.

More than this, RemoteTracker (version 0.3.0-0 and above) can use this database when the GPS receiver could not find the signal, or if the device does not have this radio inside.

Minesweeper v1.3 (Wii Game)

Minesweeper is a homebrew clone of the classic Windows game coded by mangaman3000 . It comes now with Wii Remote support and score saving.

Changes:

Now saves scores, makes it much more worth playing IMO.
Will try to update menu screens and encrypt the save file for next release.
