Status for pdroms.de (misc)

Dear visitors,

As everyone knows the news-service is back since a while. Actually it was not planed to have the news public that fast again, and the main site is currently using some free RSS to HTML service, which also brings quite a big delay for all news (unless you have access to the beta page).

If you use an RSS feed reader, you are highly encouraged to order the feed and stick with the feed, till pdroms is fully back (which means including file-downloads, interviews, etc…).

As the beta page is password protected but the feed is located there, some RSS feed reader will start mocking – so you need to try if this also applies to your feed reader or not. In case you are using Opera’s integrated feed reader, everything should work fine and flawless.

Also help building up a community and use the webboard which is located at http://www.pdroms.de/phpbb – The webboard for some reason has always been almost dead… anyway… 🙂

And while I am at it, the currect coding compo details can be found at: http://www.pdroms.de/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=341 – please spread the word about it, there are still 17 days left and the prizes are quite funky 🙂

Regards
Kojote & Team

PSP Wave Changer 1.1 (PSP Application)

This application by Akez flashes “own waves” to a PSP. Regarding the author it is fairly easy to use and it shouldnt brick your PSP unless the file you select to copy is not a system_plugin_bg.rco file.

Changes:

The bug in the previous version is now fixed.
Also i have made the application look better by adding a background image, etc.

Mobile RSS v0.5.1 (iPhone Application)

Sick of having to keep RSS feeds as bookmarks on the iPhone? Don’t like having to browse to a website to check your feeds? Ever wanted a native RSS reader on the iPhone? Well this project is here to fix all of that.

The goal of Mobile-RSS is to create a native iPhone application which will remember all your feeds and give you an easy interface for viewing, adding, and removing.

iPhone-SDL-MAME WIP (Arcade emu for iPhone)

There are some news about the MAME port to iPhone (there is no download yet).

Quoted directly from the homepage:

CURRENT STATUS: As expected, performance is an issue. For example, Pacman and Q*bert run quite well, but Galaga and Gyruss are marginal even with frame skipping and lowered sound quality. The SDL port was the quickest way to get everything up and running without having to delve into the guts of MAME. I just started working on porting older versions and hopefully I’ll find something that’s acceptable.

NES.app v1.00 RC1 (NES emu for iPhone)

NES.app is a Nintendo emulator for Apple’s iPhone. NES.app uses a modified version of the popular InfoNES emulation core to mimic the 6502 processor in a Nintendo Entertainment System, allowing you to play ROM dumps of games designed for the NES console. ROM dumps are files containing the dumped instruction code from a physical cartridge. In many cases, you are legally entitled to posess a ROM dump of any game that you presently own. ROM images for NES are widely available online, or with the appropriate hardware, you can dump them yourself directly from the cartridge.

NES.app started as a fork of iPhoneNES v0.01, but has been completely rewritten to run very fast, and with many additional features including full sound, game genie codes, saved games, battery-saved ram support, and full screen support.

Changes since v0.99.07:

[nervegas] Added auto-install of coreaudiod.plist for on-demand mode
[nervegas] Added 1-second delay for sound initialization

PDRC 3.667 – Prize update! (misc)

“Heavy Stylus”, owner of http://www.rgcd.co.uk/ and the guy behind the RGCD, a retro magazine published on CD, has offered the following to our little competition:

1) The winner will get his game on a REAL cartridge,
2) additionally there is the option of getting the game published. Unfortunatly there wont be any money behind, but the good feeling that your game has been pulled on a dozens of cartridges and spread out in a “real and proper” form, directly useable on any GBA. THE RGC shop is already selling two GBA homebrew games on NON COMMERCIAL and NON PROFIT base.

Thanks for supporting PDRC #3.667, Heavy Stylus!
