Ultra SCSIcide (A2600 game)

Ultra SCSIcide is an original, fast-paced homebrew game released back in 2001 by Joe Grand of Pixels Past. In SCSIcide you play the role of a hard drive read head. As the different colored bits scroll by on the hard drive platter, you need to quickly read them in the correct order before you suffer a buffer underflow. As you complete each level, the data scrolls by more and more quickly! How far can you go? If you’re a fan of Activision’s Kaboom!, then you’ll love SCSIcide.Joe Grand has spent some time recently updating SCSIcide and has released a new version of thegame titled Ultra SCSIcide. This latest version of the game contains many improvements over the original, such as joystick support (the original version only supports paddles), gameplay improvements, a new PAL version, and more. Crazy Balloon 2600 (Playable Demo) (A2600 game)

Image provided by: UnknownAtari 2600 author Manuel Rotschkar (whose previous games include Seawolf, Star Fire, and Gunfight) has been hard at work on his newest Atari 2600 creation, Crazy Balloon. Based on the 1980’s arcade underdog from Taito, in Crazy Balloon you must carefully navigate your balloon through many varied levels full of different dangers. The final version, which Manuel plans to have completed in time for the 2005 Mini Game Competition, will contain most obstacles and levels of the original arcade game, as well as some new dangers created exclusively for the Atari 2600 version. You can view screenshots of the game here and follow development of Crazy Balloon along with the latest binary following the link below. GP Quake v0.5 (GP32 game port)

Woogal has updated GP Quake to v0.5. The official page has not been updated yet, you have to get it from GP32x. Changes:

* Added to the options screen is the new Double Size option>>Frame rate is improved significantly, and the graphics don’t look as bad as you’d expect.* Sound. Only samples at the moment, but it should be possible to add fake cd audio by using .mods.* Also tidied up the code in a few places and that may have effected the saving problem. Hopefully the problem isn’t as bad now but it could easily have become worse. I’ve tested by playing up to level 4 and not had any problems so far.

FreeSCI GP32 2005-01-15 (Sierra Game Interpretor for GP32)

FreeSCI for GP32 has been updated yesterday. The changes:

* src/gfx/resource/sci_picfill.c (FILL_FUNCTION): Removed some magic of questionable correctness from pic filling code (fixes qg1 pic.095 visual map / unscaled) * src/gfx/resource/sci_picfill_aux.c (AUXBUF_FILL): Made sure that auxbuf filling is only used whenever the control map is involved, and ensured that the bits set in the unscaled case can be (at worst) the singleton set of bits marking the control map.
