“Shipping Is A Feature” by punkfloyd is a demo for PC Engine released at Buenzli 20.
zNotes is a lightweight cross platform application for notes management with simple interface.
Hunter plays NSFs on the TurboGrafx / PC-Engine. NSF is the format used for ripping soundtracks from NES / Famicom games.
Release notes:
I’ve fixed a bug in the handling of the noise channel’s length counter. The drums in Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 should now sound a lot better.
I’ve also modified the rombuilder to pad the output .PCE file to a multiple of 256 kB. That should solve any random freezes that could result from an odd ROM size causing the wrong bank to be switched in.

Creating a custom ROM:
Start rombuilder.exe. Drag the NSF files to the top listbox, then press “Build”. A ROM named hunter.pce will be generated in the same directory as the rombuilder.
Hunter is a NSF player for the NEC TurboGrafx-16 by mic.
Thanks to mic himself for the news. mic is aware of minor graphical glitches and might do a fixed version later on.
Charles MacDonald and Tomaitheous started a coding contest for the PCE. Putting your optimization skills to the test by running the processor only in slow mode – 1.79mhz.
Anyone is welcome to enter the contest!
Rules:
– Code must have the CPU set to 1.79mhz mode.
– ROM can not be larger than 512k.
– Must be PC-Engine only (No SuperGrafx)
– No added RAM (no using the Populous ROM layout)
– Self modifying code and any other tricks are allowed

It’s reality again, here comes PDROMS CODING COMPETITION v4.01 – Retro Coding Fun for Console and Handhelds!
Coding on “closed” handhelds or consoles must not be a privilege; dozens of free development kits proof the opposite. The steadily growing “homebrew scene” produces unlicensed software for devices not meant to be open for everyone.
PDRoms has always been in the homebrew scene to support the creation of new homebrew software, support programmers and artists. To show our love to the homebrew scene once again, here comes the ninth PDRoms Coding Competition.

Spread the word! – May the Schwartz be with you 😉
WLA DX has stagnated a lot recently but there has been progress since the last time (November 2006). WLA DX is a Macro Assembler Package for GB-Z80/Z80/6502/65C02/6510/65816/HUC6280/SPC-700 and was written by Ville Helin.
Changes:
– data filtering macros (looks useful for non-standard string encoding)
– Mersenne Twister random numbers (not that you’d use them much at compile-time)
– Label and line number bugfixes
