Master Linkuei has shared a first look at his work-in-progress port of Data East’s 1987 arcade classic Karnov for the SEGA Genesis.

The video shows the game running with the main logic in place (though still buggy), full backgrounds and objects that are still being worked on, and music and sound effects converted from the original YM3526/YM2203 chips to the Genesis’s YM2612, all implemented with the XGM sound driver. Future builds will focus on performance, colour palettes, VRAM usage, and fixing bugs. You can support the developer via Patreon or PayPal, and grab his other games on itch.io.
