CEPhotoViewer v0.68 (PPC Application)

CEPhotoViewer is an extremly tiny “Photo Viewer” for Pocket PC’s.

Release notes:

Folks,

I have created a small photo viewing application that I wanted to publish to the world. Key features are
– Native C code. No dependencies on .NET or any other library
– Tiny (just 25Kb)
– Full screen photos with gestures and hot-spots
– Slide-show mode
– Nice transitions (you can see them all in the slide show mode)

I have tested this on my GPS (CE 4.2) and PDA (Hermes) and it works quite well.

Gestures:
– Slide left to go to next photo in list (You can also use the wheel down for this)
– Slide right to go to previous photo list (You can also use the wheel up for this)
– Slide up to go to last photo in list
– Slide down to go to first photo in list

Hot Spots
– Top left to open a specific folder. Folder navigation is done by sliding up and down and select the to select
– Bottom left to open a specific photo. Again, you can slide up or down or go to a specific folder
– Bottom Right to start/stop slide show mode. Slideshow is 3 seconds. You can change the config file to specify different interval
– Top right to exit
– Right edge of screen to go to next photo in list
– Left edge of screen to go to previous photo list (You can also use the wheel up for this)
– Bottom edge of screen to go to last photo in list
– Top edge of screen to go to first photo in list

Configuration
CEPhotoViewer saves its configuration in CEPhotoViewer.cfg in the same folder as the exe. This file contains the last open folder and the slide show timeout

Startup
– On startup CEPhotoViewer looks for any JPG/BMP/GIF images in the program’s folder. Else it prompts you to select a folder. Once selected the config file is created and subsequent runs, it will automatically pickup that folder

Bugs
– CEPhotoViewer uses native microsoft DLL to load a image. Depending on the speed of your CPU, this loading might be slow. Photos resized to the correct size (under 640×480) load pretty quickly. Large (2MP+) photos take a couple of seconds to load. Perhaps someday I will include native JPG loading codeDone
– CEPhotoViewer is built for ARM CPUs only. I can build for other CPUs but dont have a device handy

Looking forward to your comments. Im also working on finishing a MP3 player and a launcher (more appropriate for GPS devices)

Tron (26-03-2008) (A2600 Game)

jbs30000 updated his recently released Tron game for Atari 2600.

Release notes:

I’m through working on this game. It’s better now, but still has a bug or two that I no longer have the patience to try and fix.

Improvements from what I posted a couple of days ago:
-Enemy light cycles now include a light cycle sprite, instead of just showing the light wall.
-Timer in grid spider game cut to make it harder to play. Score increases when you kill a spider.
-You usually can make it to level 2 after clearing all 4 games in level 1, and even usually get to level 3.

Bugs:
-The light cycle game can mess with your life counter when you win or lose.
-It happens rarely, but in the tank game and grid spiders game, the missile you fire might just pass through an enemy.

Anyway, that’s about it. The main menu in each level changes, just like in the arcade game, so that if you go up for example, on the first level you’ll get the tank game, but the second level will get you a different game if you go up. Also, just like in the arcade game, when you complete a game, you can’t play it again until you advance a level.

And for the heck of it. When the game first starts: 1C PP = 1 Coin Per Player; C 0 = Coins 0

I’ll post the source code, but any of you who haven’t looked at any of my code before will run for the hills when you see it . It’s not the neatest and this is a pretty big program. I started making notes but decided, what’s the point? I’ll post everything anyway and if somebody actually wants to make an improvement or two but has no idea what the heck I was thinking, or is just confused by my sloppy programming , go ahead and ask, and I shall answer.

Edited to add – While in the main menu, if you press the Start button it will add more lives. You can have a maximum of 6 I believe.
