More Dcemu.co.uk rant (misc)

As I am not too happy with Wraggsters explanation, here:

Update of sorts
Thanks to Kojote for the Idea, i posted this at 3am after an 21 hour day and forgot to credit the original idea, also by quickly linking to our GBA site people can browse and go to any coders site who makes the emu. A pm if offended would have been preferable.

At least he got his sitting-organ up and said, where the idea was comming from, but I am missing a link to the page where the idea was comming from. Anyway… giving (loveless half) credits after almost one full day… the train has already left the building, as his main page is filled up with other things and almost no one will read whatever he wrote.

Round Em Up (Alpha 3) (GP2x Game)

Round Em Up is an arcade puzzle game where the aim is to get the sheep (the white blobs :)) into their sheep pen (the lighter green area). You do this by guiding them to the sheep pen by placing the primary obstacle the bushes or special items such as rocks or pits. Full details on the game can be found in the readme included with the download.

Bee Ball v6.3 (A2600 Game)

Bee Ball is a volleyball type game, but the difference matters. You and your CPU player are bees and of course you don’t push around any ordinary volleyball, no it’s a honeyball!

Changes:

– Screen jump bug fixed!
– I hope the “raquet lost” bug was fixed too (left bee lost the raquet, and this stuck in the air, weird)
– Well the roll screen bug was already mentioned by Nathan, I not fixed this yet, but I figure for what reason this happen. I made a small fix, still rolling but less perceptible I think, since this not happen in emulators. This is the last bug to be fixed, I hope 🙂

Titan Diamonds v0.5 (A2600 Game)

In the year 2574 a lot of things have changed. Humans have colonized our solar system and the O81b “flying saucer”is the primary means of getting around town. However, some things don’t change, specifically the need for diamonds. In 2574, the largest known diamond in the solar system was found in the moon, Titan. But in the process of trying to mine it, the 2 petaton atomic bomb used was overkill and scattered diamonds across the planet and across the solar system. You are one of the many that have equipped their O81b’s with rock blasters and set off to mine for the diamonds. But watch out, the explosion also caused a lot of meteorites! Good luck diamond hunter, and get rich!

Other release notes:

Features:
* shoot rock in attempt to find diamond that is same color as playfield (also ball) except it flickers (the diamond)
* 2 players
* can shoot opposing player
* get points by collecting diamonds (“win” game at 10 diamonds?)
* may/may not die by hitting playfield
* can select different levels
* can bump into other player
* falling meteorites
* ground quakes when playfield is shot
* player resting position landing strip is “safe” to land on
* self-destruct sequence when lander is damaged (colors of red)

Original Plans not implemented/won’t be implemented:
* landing pad where you refuel (ball) – pfscore not working
* ufo runs across top and shoots down at you – ditched ufo
* lose fuel by hitting playfield – pfscore not working
* run out of fuel and you crash – pfscore not working
* playfield only crumbles when ufo’s shots hit ground – ditched ufo

MNPlight v2.10 (iPhone Application)

MNPlight aims at getting rid of the need for a computer with iTunes. It runs on your iPhone, and is able to modify the iPhone calendar, address book and iPod databases.

MNPlight can be of particular interest for Linux users who don’t have iTunes, but it can also be used by other users when they want to update their iPhone data when they are away from their iTunes computer.

If you keep using iTunes, you may experiment problems with the Calendar and the Address Book since modifications done on your iPhone won’t be seen by iTunes.

MNPlight can now read Web Radios and a PXL package is available!

Dcemu.co.uk steals and modifies articles from PDRoms (misc)

Just few hours ago myself, Kojote/PDRoms, wrote an article about how to extend the iPhones gaming function using gpSPhone. Now Wraggster shameless steals this idea, without giving credits where due. The original article is here: http://www.pdroms.de/news/7352/

Here is his post as you can find it per 05:05 20.11.2007 on dcemu.co.uk:

November 20th, 2007, 04:12 Posted By: wraggster

ZodTTDs excellent GBA Emulator for the Apple iPhone/itouch has opened the door to GBA Homebrew and more importantly in this newspost emulators of other systems

The following emulators for the Gameboy Advance should all be playable on the GBA Emulator for the iPhone, from arcade games to Atari2600 and even Snes games will work via these emulators.

Amstrad CPC
Asteroids
Black Tiger
Centipede
Greenboy Attack
Murdoc
Pacman
Punchout GBA RGBArcade
Remuadvance
Space Invadors
Atari 2600
BBC Micro
Chip 8
Colecovision
Game Gear
Gameboy
MSX
Nes
PCE Engine
Sega Master System
Sharp X1
Snes
Spectrum
Texas Instruments 83
Watara Supervision
Wonderswan

All can be found for download at GBA Emulation

To mention that GBA Emulation is a part of Wraggsters own Network, at least my article gave the homepages of the developers in first line… oh, to mention: PDRoms is fully non-commercial and hombrew developer friendly (we don’t link around in our own network to generate lots of pageviews and display a shitload of commercial ads…).

Wraggster how deep have you fallen? SHAME ON YOU!

He’s also pushing SNES emulation, tho it really doesn’t work that pretty… but well… you have your attention now! Congrats!

Spread the word and make him show who is the community! Teach him a lesson, so he will finally respect and proper link things of others! It’s not only about PDRoms, it’s also about every single homebrewer out there… I bet you prefer getting links to your own page, than having your product added up in his forum without mentioning a source? Right?

Dali Clock (SVN 7) (iPhone Application)

Dali Clock is a digital clock. When a digit changes, it “melts” into it new shape. The date is displayed when the screen is tapped. The clock also does funky psychedelic color cycling.

Fractalicious (iPhone misc)

Fractalicious is an app which calculates vectorbased fractals (that means, no Mandelbrot etc., but ferns, trees, Sierpinski triangles, etc.). It’s very easy to use – use two fingers (“pinch”) for zooming, moving and even rotating the fractal (note the “and”!), or drag a control point to change proportions/angles.
