When demos go multi-platform (misc)

Many productions released on the demoscene are made for more than one platform. A smart move since you can reach a bigger audience this way. But what is needed to do this and what are the differences if any?

Magic interviewed Xeron and Marq, both known for creating multi platform ports.

Follow the link below for the full and very interesting article!

Task Facade v3.8.0.3 (PPC Application)

Task Facade, previously known as Dynamo 3, is a cool, animated task manager for your PocketPC 2003/05/06 device. Say goodbye to boring text lists of running programs and instead manage your programs by sliding in images of all your running applications onto your screen. For each program on your device an image is saved and when you click the hotkey they all zoom onto your screen. Simply click the one you want and it will increase to fill the screen. Quickly seeing all the running programs is far more efficient than having to read through a text-based task list so Task Facade can make task switching a much faster, and cooler, experience.

Task Facade also allows you to quit programs from inside the image view meaning that it does everything your old text-based program manager could do.

As well as just looking generally cooler, Task Facade offers far more customization than before and allows the whole application to be controlled using either your PDAs hardware keys or the stylus.

Changes:

# Fix: Process list init exception
# Fix: process name converted to lowercase in ban settings
# Fix: ‘Last snapshot’ on Facade activation enhanced
+ Selected slot slightly zoomed
+ Settings saved after every change

***BEFORE INSTALL***: Before installing version 3.8, uninstall the previous version AND MANUALLY REMOVE THE ‘TASK FACADE’ FOLDER from Program Files’. You do not need its old content.

Snes4iphone v3.0.0 (Beta) (SNES emu for iPhone)

SNES4iPhone is a fully featured Super Nintendo (SNES) emulator for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch! SNES4iPhone is a port of Notaz’s excellent PocketSNES emulator. This release is currently for ZodTTD beta testers only.

Quote:

I decided to release snes4iphone v3.0.0 as a beta as there are some changes that will need to be refined. First up in the change list are snesadvance.dat speedhacks are now properly loaded. This is a double edged sword though as it can speed up some games, yet break others. If you find a game that no longer works with v3.0.0, you may want to check /Applications/snes4iphone.app/snesadvance.dat and remove the game from the list and retry it. Please let me know if you find a snesadvance.dat speedhack that isn’t working with snes4iphone.

This is and old classic style, you are a messenger, and your objective it’s simple, get the packets from one point to it’s destination, of course the destination has a little time to wait, if you can’t get it at time, gameover hehehe.

Blabberbot v2 (PSP Application)

Blabberbot by Art is an experimental text to speech program for plain text files based on the Flite (Festival lite) speech engine PSP port provided by Mypspdev.

Changes:

Blabberbot V2 runs the speech engine in it’s own thread, so control is now very responsive. There are buttons assigned to pause, and quit the current text file, and text chunks are much smaller as originally intended.
