Here a little update to jEnesisDS, Lordus’ Genesis/MegaDrive emulator for the Nintendo DS.

Changes:

– Fixed bug in Z80 core, preventing some games from having sound (Wonderboy, etc.).
– Fixed bug in 68000 optimization, that could make some games hang (Bonanza Brothers, etc.).
– Changed sound handling and doubled sample rate for PCM sound, resulting in slightly better sound quality.
– HW renderer partially rewritten, many glitches should be gone, some are still there (and will probably not be easy to fix ever)
– Sprite rendering completely rewritten in ASM. Should be faster and fix most of the sprite issues.
– Implemented mid frame palette updates (water effects in Sonic games, Castlevania, etc.). Note, that this just works, if a game is constantly fast enough, so slowdowns can still cause colors to flicker.
– Many little optimizations in memory handling and the CPU cores. Should reduce slowdowns.
– Added option for sprite masking (Landstalker etc.). It is not 100% emulated, just faked to be enough for most games using it (disable it, if sprites are missing, that should be there).
– Added option to change between 3- and 6-Button pad (just works, if the option is applied BEFORE loading a game). When 6-Button pad is disabled, L+R can be used to move the visible screen area, X to center it.
– Added sound state to the savestates, so that the correct tracks should play now when a state is loaded. Savestates are still not 100% reliable and loading old states can potentially cause problems.

Virtualball is on half way to bring us Chip’s Challenge to the iPhone/iPod Touch, in form of “Tile World”.

Tile World is an emulation of the game “Chip’s Challenge”. “Chip’s Challenge” was originally written for the Atari Lynx by Chuck Sommerville, and was later ported to MS Windows by Microsoft (among other ports).

iDope is a drug trading game, where you travel across cities to buy and sell drugs. However, you are not alone, there will be cops and loan sharks coming to get you.

You start off owing the loan shark 100,000 due to your gambling habits. You decided to settle all your debts once and for all. Fortunately, you manage to get 10,000 from your friend, and have been introduced by your friend to 5 drug dealers across the country to deal with. With 10,000 dollars, you begin your quest to import drugs to these 5 places while making huge money out of it.

But will you be able to get pass Officer Bob?

Changes:

– Jacket storage is limited, you start with 100 and you can upgrade as you go by using the Jacket Shop.
– Your expenses will be higher and higher when you get richer.
– Buttons will no longer “get stuck” when you decide to dismiss your buy or sell requests.
– New events. ^^

CubicMan is a simple yet addictive puzzle game. The game is not finished yet and the current version has only 8 levels.

The game can be played in both portrait and landscape mode. You can use single finger wipes to roll the cube and 2 fingers gesture to zoom in and out.

The first time you run ToggleBacklight, it saves your current Backlight level, and sets the level to the minimum.

Each time you run it afterwards, it saves the current level and switches back to the previous level.

This allows you to easily toggle between two backlight levels – set the level you want, run the app, then set the second level you want.

To install, unzip the folder, copy the folder and contents into /Applications on the iPhone, then set executable permissions on the ToggleBacklight executable file itself.

Lexitron is a fast-paced word game built around anagrams. The object of the game is to find as many words as you can in the time limit, but be careful– if you fail to find at least one word that uses all six letters, the game is over and you can’t move on to the next round.
