gpSPhone v1.0.0 (GBA emu for iPhone)

gpSPhone is a GBA emulator based ZodTTD’s port of gpSP to the GP2X. gpSP is a great GBA emulator written by the talented Exophase. ZodTTD ported it to the GP2X, and added an (iPhone/iTouch compatible) dynarec. By using this coding technique, fullspeed performance of GBA is obtained on the iPhone/iTouch. Today there was the magic 1.0.0 release – for sure worth a try!

Changes:

Changes 1.0.0:
– Switched to using fullscreen landscape view
– Added transparent overlay for improved controls
– Fixed some of my changes back to Exophase’s dynarec code.
– Improved performance in some areas of some games. This may be offset by the more intensive rendering to screen.
– Added 8way dpad support and A+B button (bottom right corner) for combo support.

Pending Issues:
– Screen is a bit faded out from landscape mode controller overlay
– Dropped portrait support.
– The 8way dpad is a little too small for some users. It will be adjusted for larger thumbs soon.
– Save states in some games will crash. Try not to save very early into playing a game to avoid this bug.
– Bugs are bound to be found. They will be fixed as asap.

Check Disk for NDS v0.1 (NDS Application)

Here comes a new application from Infantile Paralysiser.

Release notes:

This application only in a Japanese mode.
NDS Check disk for NDS alone in a simple move. Disk-repair mechanism. SDHC is not supported.
Mainly, seemingly normal running seem Check disk for NDS is aimed to detect.
CF/SD The problem is particularly likely because the public, CF / SD to IKKIRI RI deeply scared people away because it will not start, please. Repair does not (read only) because it is broken further deterioration that I do not think is a??for.
NDS Mass copying files to or NDS on the new file is created or after a nice and easy to check.

FAT12/16/32 Open/Close Unicode Check basic items, FAT12/16/32 inspection, duplication and fragmentation of the cluster detection files detected, a cluster of abnormal cutting links, directory entries in the file and the actual file in the context of the whole file to the Open / Close test, long file names and folder names long abnormal Unicode entry detection, super-simple writing test. As an added bonus, the disc details, disk usage, fragmented files list.
Apps is a lot of this anomaly is a completely normal state disk that is not guaranteed.
Some of funny, then you GANBA Do not attempt to repair it, I have to format it is a good idea. This apps make me dwell.

GoSub2 (Build 71a) (A2600 Game)

atariland2600 has updated his game GoSub2. It’s now at build 71a.

Release notes:

Well, after three hours of trial and error, I finally figured out how to make the sub move through the octopus and shark slowly. The shark sprite is a temporary one until I find a better one. As for one enemy being confined to the walls like the sub, how would the intro work? The intro being once the level starts (or it’s shot), it enters from the side.

MAME GP2x v5.1 (Arcade emu for GP2x)

Franxis and contributors just relesed an updated version of MAME GP2x, which is a port of the famous arcade machine emulator MAME to the GP2x.

Changes:

Slaanesh:
– Added Knuckle Joe (kncljoe) (from MAME 0.37b12).
– Updated Warp Warp. Now playable with full sound.
– Bug fix to Sega Ninja (and clones) in Sega System 8 driver. Background was not correct.
– Added improved MSM5205 ADPCM sound system. This is currently separated to the old MSM5205 core.
Only Knuckle Joe uses this but there is potential to update many other games to the improved MSM5205 (e.g. Rygar).
– Added FRAC definitions (useful for adding MAME 0.36+ drivers).

Franxis:
– Due to the fact the GP2X TV-Out PAL runs at 50 Hz, the video rate is now limited to 50 Hz when using the TV-Out PAL mode,
to improve the video output and to avoid slowdowns using the VSync option.
– Anyway my recommendation to play with TV-Out is: NTSC mode, high overclocking, VSync+DblBuff and frameskip=0.

Yahtzee GP2x v2.0 (GP2x Game)

As Guyfawkes announced recently, he released an updated verison of his Yahtzee port for GP2x, this time with F200 support!

Here are his release notes:

As mentioned last week I was planning to update one of my first GP2X games from when the GP2X was first released. It was originally a port of my GP32 game Yahtzee and due to the early development kit for the GP2X the port wasn’t that great. So now the F-200 is out, touch screen is perfect for the game and although I do not own a F-200 I wanted an up to date version for myself and others to enjoy.

The game has the following changes:

– Brand new layout and design for the game. Menus and in game look totally different and are much nicer and easier to read.
– F-200 Touch Screen and USB Mouse are now fully supported.
– Media player from Squares is now used so you can play your favourite MP3, OGG and (I think) MOD format music.
– Added SFX for the dice roll. I didnt put much SFX as you should be bangin’ out your tunes 🙂
– Added animation for the dice roll.
– High Score table added.
– PDF user guide.
– Minor bug fixes.

Please read the user guide on how to set up the media player, by default it searches the /audio/ subfolder on your SD Card.

Donations are appreciated so if you like the game don’t forget! This is my last software release for the GP2X as I will be probably moving onto something else in the new year, so thanks for playing my software and long live the GP2X! I hope you enjoy the new version, you can download it from the GP2X Archive.
