King Of Fighters Remake (GP32 game)

IceMan sent me a new alpha (2nd) to check out and test and said it was OK to post to announce the project and request for help. This version has an improved intro animation and more importantly the beginnings of the fight engine. As you can see from the screenshots onGP32Emuthe first character is animated and you can now move forwards/backwards and punch. Its looking great so far!The author would like some assistance with the project, in particular Graphics and Music. He is spending alot of time ripping the graphics so if anyone can help with that it would be a timesaver. Also he is looking for music rips for the game. I have set up a forum topic for this project on the GP32Emu developement forum, so if you can help out in any way please replyhere, guest posting is allowed.Visit my site athttp://www.gp32emu.com/for several screenshots of the game in action.

New Sponsor – Play-Asia.com!

Most of you noticed that GameGizmo went out of bussiness two days ago. Now I was able to get a new sponsor. In fact the new sponsor’s name is”Play-Asia.com”and they are going to support us for a while.I placed an order at Play-Asia.com a while back before they were our sponsor, and I can recommend them highly. I got my EMS parcel with the GP32 and Sonic 2 Gold Edition (for Dreamcast) in less than 5 days. Play-Asia.com offers a lot of different stuff so you might just have a look there. They have a bank account in .de .au and .hk so if you are ordering from Germany you don’t have to pay expensive transfer fees etc… Paypal and Creditcard payment is supported too. But as said… just have a look there and leave feedback about Play-Asia.com in the PDroms webboard. – KojotePlay-Asia.com

Makebook v4.5 (GBA application)

GameBoy Book Reader allows you to make a text file into a book which you can read on the GameBoy or GameBoy Advance. You need to program the .GB or .GBA file produced onto a suitable FLASH memory cartridge.

Makebook V4.5 has been a long time in the making. Adding a MIDI file-playing capability has involved a steep learning curve. This first release with MIDIs will simply allow a MIDI to be played on clicking a link. Further releases will allow MIDIs to be specified as background music to chosen sections of the book. The player uses wave table synthesis and includes a preset selection of sampled instruments to provide an authentic sound. The ‘Exit to Shell’ function provides a better experience with shell programs such as Pogoshell.Hebrew support mainly involved a right to left text ability. This was quite quick to add (about 2 hours). V4.5 also includes new ‘combining characters’ necessary for hebrew ‘pointing’.A further new feature is to automatically select a display font in the Windows application based on the language of the text file being processed. If your computer has the font for that language installed you will see the text in the correct form.

Connect 4 (GP32 game)

Clem released a really neat”Connect 4″game. It supports 3D graphics including different angles to view the board.

About the gameConnect-4 was first marketed by MB in the late 70s. MB later became a part of Hasbro. There is no reference to Connect-4 on www.hasbro.com, so I assume it’s out-of-production in the US now. In Europe however it is still being sold (it’s present on www.hasbro.at for example)Goal of the gameThe goal of Connect-4 is to have 4 tokens of your color in a row; either horizonatally, vertically or diagonally.InstallationPut the connect-4 executable in gp:gpmm or gp:game (if you can launch it from there). Create a connect4 subdirectory for the save file (this is optional, else the save file is placed in gp:gpmm)SavingConnect-4 saves the number of games won, lost and ending with draw to SMC, along with the highest unlocked difficulty level.

New Sponsor needed!

As the one or other noticed GameGizmo went out of bussiness yesterday. If anyone is interested in the bannerplace (only serious offers please) feel free to write me as soon as possible. Please do not offer things like”free samples”or”x% on each sale”since it does not pay the server plus domain. – Kojote

Atari 2600 Emulator for GP32 News

Text taken from GP32emu:

I got a new beta of the Atari 2600 emulator to check out and write a little update here about the progress. The author has been working with the other Atari 2600 emulator author for the GP32 and have been fixing bugs, making improvements etc. This version of the emulator I was given is very good, several of the games I tested worked fine with sound, although some games did have minor sound errors. However the compatibility is not high, games like Pole Position dont yet run, but hopefuly the compatibility will be increased as they both improve on their emulators.
