FreeTypeGX is a wrapper class for libFreeType which renders a compiled FreeType parsable font into a GX texture for Wii homebrew development. FreeTypeGX is written in C++ and makes use of a pre-buffered methodology to allow fast and efficient printing of text to the EFB.
This library was developed in-full by Armin Tamzarian with the support of developers in #wiibrew on EFnet, Chaosteil of libwiisprite, and DrTwox of GRRLIB.
Full Doxygen API documentation is included within the download archive for assistance with program integration.

Bert Jan released his custom linux distribution “xwhiite-linux” for Nintendo Wii.
Release notes:
I’ve arranged a test version of my Wii-linux distro: xwhiite. Basically it’s just Xorg running on top of the existing debian/whiite package, along with the necessary drivers, config and apps to make the x ‘magic’ happen.
Videos of the system in action are here and here.
Features:
– (almost) everything also in whiite linux (I stripped a few things to save some space)
– working Xorg, using nuvalo’s ‘cube’ driver (as discussed here).
– Fluxbox windowmanager
– wiimote input (libcwiid + fastsync)
– SMB / CIFS support (useful for mounting your media NAS)
– some useful apps preinstalled (mplayer, vlc, opera, firefox)
– a nice look & feel
– uses less than 512M on disk

mdm2k released his puzzle game “Arcade Jigsaw” for Nintendo Wii.
Release notes:
The object of the game is to assemble the puzzle, of course. But this is not just another computer jigsaw puzzle! You must put the pieces exactly where they go or they head to the back of the queue. You only get to see a few at a time.
Up to four players can work together to solve puzzles. The puzzles must be PNG images, up to 480×440 in size. A built-in puzzle is used if no SD card is present when Arcade Jigsaw starts.
Thanks to www.nintendomax.com for the news.
