TehSkeen is proud to present the worlds first Nintendo Wii homebrew coding competition.
There are a bunch of high quality prices, head over and check the rules. Having an entry is actually more “spirit” than fame – this would be more in the sense of homebrew scene, but anyway… if there are nice goodies to win why not!

Music player for the Wii. It has a nice interface and is skinnable. It plays mp3, ogg and other formats but does not work with wma, aac or flac. It is a native Wii application (no Wii Linux) with the intent of being a multi-source media player on the Wii.
DragonMedia Player will pick up files anywhere on your SD card, and plays sequentially once a file has started. Simply install into the HBC by copying the dmp folder in the zip file to /apps/ and run the program. Do not rename the folder as DragonMedia Player expects things to be in the correct order to function. For the changelog, please look inside either the source or the binary zip file.
Changes:
* Fixed core dump on loading pls files.

WiiMU is a PoC “Channel Launcher” app for the Wii. It eventually aims to completely replace the System Menu in functionality. At the moment it is quite far from that goal, but it does have a start.
Important Information:
There are some slight problems with 0.1a3. First, on the channel list, you may get two listings of a channel. Choose the first one. Second, the elf file is named WiiMU.elf. You must rename it to boot.elf for it to work. These issues have already been brought to attention and will be fixed in a4

WiiMU is a PoC “Channel Launcher” app for the Wii. It eventually aims to completely replace the System Menu in functionality. At the moment it is quite far from that goal, but it does have a start.
It currently:
– Lists all installed Channels. (Does not include those with only a ticket)
– Allows selection of the Channel to load.
– Allows launching of a disc.
– Allows return to loader.
– Allows return to real System Menu.
– Has a NAND Dumper. Thanks to Redbird who released YaWnD, I was able to add this to the release. This is NOT my code, it is Redbirds.
– Allows you to look at all save files on your Wii. Copying does not work yet.
– Allows you to look at the configuration settings from your Wii.
– Has a Main menu. Contains Launch Disc, Launch a channel, dump NAND, return to Wii Menu, browse save files, look at configurations, and return to Loader.
Please note that at the moment it DOES NOT REPLACE ANY SYSTEM FILES! It may eventually get to that point, but currently it is far from it.
Changes:
* Fixes a bug in which certain users couldn’t get the list of channels.
* Adds save file browsing. Copying does not work yet.
* Adds a configuration viewer. Will eventually allow changing.
* Adds launching a disc.
