There is a new minor update available when you access the Wii Shop Channel, presumably related to the coming of Wiiware. It does not as yet appear to affect the Twilight Hack in any way.

Ballion is based on the C64’er game Crillion. For the WII version you need a gamecube game controller. Sound is not yet supported in this version. Hardware acceleration is not used, the PS2 version looks better. To save the game state, you need a gamecube memory card in slot B. You can load ballion with the Twilight Hack.

Team Twiizers released an update to their Wii homebrew loader/exploit.
Changes:
Correctly loads geckoloader code from USBGecko flash
Geckoloader is a native Wii application which helps you to load and execute Wii homebrew binaries in the easiest and fastest way possible. It acts as a server which will receive binaries directly using a USB Gecko adapter. A client tool to transfer such files is included.
Changes:
a gamecube pad isn’t required anymore, the wii reset button is used to confirm the flash process
the loader code is executed straight away if it has been flashed before (no interaction required)
.elf file support thanks to tmbinc
the stub doesn’t overwrite the globals anymore, fixed by WinterMute
a received binary is now written to MEM2 before relocating
ported the client to win32 (binary included)
the client now uses default device names on linux and os x
the audio and dsp subsystems are initialized on reloading (no more annoying noise)

AtaWii is an Atari ST emulator for Wii, based upon CaSTaway.

Collecting donations for Eke-Eke, read on:
So the Nintendo Wii has been cracked to allow homebrew to run on the system without the need of a modchip and some small programs ranging from a MP3 player to a mini-distribution of Linux have surfaced. Needless to say this is a good step forward for the Nintendo Wii homebrew community.
Soon we’ll see a full fledged version of LibOGC that is compatible with the Nintendo Wii and will eventually make use of it’s special capabilities that weren’t present in GameCube mode such as the USB ports, SD Card port, WiiMote and Wifi interfaces.
With this in mind, I’m sure a lot of you would like to see our current SkeenDev emulators take advantage of these capabilities along with more such as the extra RAM and horsepower the processor puts out. Eke-Eke is one of the maintainers of the majority of our SkeenDev emulators including Genesis Plus, GnuBoyGX, Hu-Go GC, NeoPop and SMSPlus. He’s spent many of days and his free time developing and adding features to these emulators without asking for a dime.
He is also still doing this with his next major addition being the ability to play the Sega Genesis version of Virtua Racing in Genesis Plus! I’m sure a lot of you can appreciate his hard work and why not show a little of that appreciation by “donating” in this Fund Raiser for eke-eke.
Basically, he needs a Nintendo Wii to develop on. This Fund Raiser wasn’t his idea – it was mine. I just asked him if it were okay with him and he said he’d be honored if anyone could help him obtain a Nintendo Wii by donating.
So if you have a spare $2, $5 or $10 laying around and would like to contribute the to community I’m taking donations on behalf of eke-eke via PayPal to get him a Nintendo Wii. If you’re interested in helping out click below to donate!
