LCD Colour Correction Test Programs (GP2x misc)

The LCD colour correction test consists in a series of simple tests designed to find the precise colour characteristics of GP2X screens and to correct them. The test comes in two parts, one SDL program you run on your PC, and one program you run on your GP2X.

Both programs display the same colours, the goal is to make the colour in the center of the screen on the GP2X match as closely as possible to the one on the PC screen.

Powder (Release 107) (GP2x Game Port)

Simon Parzer ( http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showuser=10065 ) has updated the recent Powder release. It’s now in sync with the latest Release/Build 107.

To understand POWDER (http://www.zincland.com/powder/ ), you should first understand roguelikes. “Roguelike” is a term applied to a wide variety of games which share a common inspiration from the game Rogue. A non-exhaustive list of such games would be: ADOM, Nethack, Crawl, Diablo (I & II), Moria, and Angband.

Changes:

Leather helms will actually use the new leather helm icon. (Bunnyriffic)
Doors to special rooms will hopefully now be properly blocked so wandering monsters don’t wander through them.
Secret doors should no longer be giveaways in dark rooms by being the only lit wall.
Special overlay tile when creatures are on fire.
New special weapon, the earth hammer. (Ibson the Grey)
Creatures may teleport you to escape rather than always themselves.
Creatures will use wands of sleep to escape. (Derek S. Ray)
Creatures that are tame to someone other than yourself are described as followers rather than tame. (Derek S. Ray)
Picked up items always go to the end of your inventory rather than filling holes, hopefully making it easier to find items you just picked up. (Malte Helmert)
H’ruth is no longer impressed by you being surrounded by sleeping or paralysed enemies. (Robert Hamaker)
The charging of lightning rapiers is now proportional to the damage that would be done.
Tlosh will grant exotic armour skill. (R. Dan Henry)
Necromancer and Barbarian dress codes (R. Dan Henry)
When polyed into a grid bug you can move diagonally with the stylus, mouse, or the new Move command. (Michal Bielinski)
Flamestrike’s strength now is dependent on your favour with your current god. (Xaintrix)
Ghosts are no longer able to bypass the library’s locks.
You can make secret doors and hidden traps. (CYBER Aeon)
You can smash viewports. (Brendan)
Name generator has a hotkey so keyboard purists can use it. (Brendan)
Forgetting things no longer leaves the menu on screen.
When turning to stone or poisoned your apperance changes.
The final damage from poison is now applied before the you are cured message, leading to a less confusing apparent order of events. (Andrew Poandl)
Ibson the Grey tileset white and red dragons fixed. (Vladimir Stalin)

The download is currently available locally here at PDRoms once the GP2x File Archive gets updated, thanks to Simon again providing the update and the file.

Starfall v0.4 (Wii Application)

Starfall, formerly HackInstaller, is an application developed by Crediar to patch the system menu to include new features.

Information:
These hacks only work with the System Menu 3.2E(v290) or 3.2U(v289). If you have any other version, it will just return to the loader.

This tool does not update any SHA1 hashes or signatures. Currently IOS isn’t checking those, but that could be fixed in a future update.

Just load it and carefully read the on screen stuff otherwise you won’t be able to install it.

All hacks are optional and can be installed or removed separately.

The Rescue Menu is a built-in menu by Nintendo, it doesn’t make your Wii unbrickable. If you install another System Menu, all hacks will be removed.

Your System Menu will only be patched, it won’t be deleted. This makes the patch progress very brick safe.

txt-read v0.5 (Wii Application)

txt-read is a simple app for viewing text files.

Quote:

From Google Code
A simple text file viewer for the Wii.

Features
Wiimote support
Front SD support
The display never breaks (by displaying too many lines than fit on one screen)
Uses the Wii’s basic text console
File selector

What is being worked on
Subfolders, and fix bugginess in file selector.
Partial displaying of long lines

Instructions
To load it, you can now use any method of loading homebrew.

The app will then ask you if you want to display line numbers. Press 1 for yes or 2 for no.

Then it lets you choose a file from the SD card. Currently, there is no subdirectory support, so text files must be in root.

Then you can use up and down to scroll, and home to exit.

Simple, eh?

DragonMedia Player v0.15 (Alpha) (Wii Application)

Music player for the Wii. It has a nice interface and is skinnable. It plays mp3, ogg and other formats but does not work with wma, aac or flac. It is a native Wii application (no Wii Linux) with the intent of being a multi-source media player on the Wii.

DragonMedia Player will pick up files anywhere on your SD card, and plays sequentially once a file has started. Simply install into the HBC by copying the dmp folder in the zip file to /apps/ and run the program. Do not rename the folder as DragonMedia Player expects things to be in the correct order to function. For the changelog, please look inside either the source or the binary zip file.

Changes:

Added sid playback support.
Added snd/sndh/sc68 playback support.
Added language file support.
Tweaked a few things to refine more.
Fixed memory leak in emulated support.
Location in filebrowser is preserved when browsing to subfolders.
