Aladdin GBA v0.99999 (GBA game remake/techdemo)

Here is the text taken from it’s homepage:

This is my first videogame project. That is to say, it’s the first time I’ve done something involving a realtime game loop where things happen in the background regardless of what the user is doing. I made this demo for the specific purpose of making a game-like-thing.I chose to remake a section of the first level from the Sega Genesis Aladdin because Aladdin is an example of a game that still looks good today. Unlike other Genesis games, the color use is minimal allowing ugly effects like dithering to be avoided. As a result, the game looks solid and has some amazingly smooth animation thanks to the Disney artists who contributed to the project. The demo was created from scratch, from defining my own object structures, to creating animation and scrolling system, and eventually taking care of collision and object AI (although I wouldn’t really call what’s present in the demo”intelligence.”) Non-programming areas like cutting out frames of animation from the original and putting together backgrounds in a map editor took up the bulk of the development time and were the most tedious tasks….

Thunder and Lightning v2015.12.29.01 (Pandora Game Port)

Thunder and Lightning is a futuristic action flight simulator and realtime strategy game that takes place in a large 3D environment. Jump into the pilot seat of your Lightning aircraft and fight against Thunder tanks in a fierce battle for control of the island! Apart from flight simulators, Thunder and Lightning takes inspiration from (but is not a clone or remake of) the 80’s classic Carrier Command. This means that you will find yourself in control of a futuristic carrier with aircraft and amphibious tanks at your disposal. In the long run, there will be multiple Islands to conquer, each with its own defense strategy. Although Thunder and Lightning already supports missions, it aims to be an open-ended game with a dynamically developing world with scripted events on some occasions. Ported to Pandora by ptitSeb.

thaloi took care of Brain GamesRoad Fighter Remake and brought it to the GCW Zero handheld.

In Road Fighter you drive a car in a death race between you and a group of mad drivers. Your aim? To reach the end of the checkpoint before you run out of fuel. Sounds easy? Far from it, there’s a lot of obstacles between your car and the checkpoints! The game is divided in 6 stages and features 3 different difficulty levels

RoadFighter (09-03-2011) (Pandora Game Port)

RoadFighter is a remake of an MSX classic with the same name. It is a simple racing game, where the goal is to reach the end of the level before your fuel runs out. This is not as simple as it sounds since there are other vehicles on the road, some even trying to run you off the road!

Chu Chu Rocket NES (Alpha) (NES Game)

Dan Weiss aka Dwedit wrote us via E-Mail about his Chu Chu Rocket remake for NES!

Quote:

There is no sound or music yet.
It does not yet keep track of which levels you have cleared.
Puzzle mode is basically complete.
Stage Challenge mode isn’t finished:
* Missing the 30 second time limit
* The 100 mice and Cat Soccer levels don’t do anything.
There is no multiplayer mode yet.
The layout of screens and such is subject to change. Can anyone design better looking “Stage Cleared!” windows?
Controls:
* Start or A: Confirm or select something
* B or Select: Cancel or go back
Puzzle Mode:
* A + Arrow: place an arrow, replace an arrow, or pick up an arrow
* B: Take back the latest placed arrow
* Select: Quit, or return to puzzle mode if the game is running.
* Start: Set the game in motion! Also toggles double speed mode while the game is running.
Stage Challenge:
* A + Arrow: place an arrow. You can only have 3 on at a time, and can not place arrows on top of another. Arrows last for 10 seconds before they expire.
* Select: Quit
Emulator Compatibility:
Works great in FCEUX, Nintendulator, Nestopia, VirtuaNES, QuickNES, Mednafen.

Now this deserves some respect! Let’s hope the development will go on! Also keep in mind there are various NES emulators for various systems, so you can play it almost everywhere!

Inferno (13-05-2010 r2) (A2600 Game)

Inferno a remake of US Games’ “Towering Inferno”.

You’ll start off on a screen with a burning building, 14 stories tall. Move your fireman to the right to enter the building. Each of the 14 levels has a timer, you have approximately 30 seconds to put out as much of the fire as you can and safely exit the room at the top. When the timer gets down to about 5 seconds, the score will start to flash to let you know that time is about to expire. Each level of the building has it’s own unique floor plan, some are more challenging to get through than others. You’ll score 10 points for each fire that you put out. Once you’ve made it to the exit, you’ve cleared that level of the building and can move on to the next. Each time you clear a room, you’ll go back to the building screen and you’ll see one level of fire disappear. Enter the building again to move on to the next level. The goal of the game is to clear as much fire from each room as you can (racking up as many points as possible) and safely exit the building. You can win the game without putting out all of the flames.

There are three levels of difficulty which are selectable at the title screen. Push up and down on the joystick to select the level, then press fire to start the game. The fire moves progressively more quickly in each level, and in level three you begin with only 3 fireman rather than 6.
