Snes9x4P (14-02-2011) (SNES emu for Pandora)

Snes9x4P is a port of Dingoo SNES9x to Pandora. This is probably a shoddy port, but it runs Killer Instinct, Yoshi’s Island, etc, at full speed.

Changes:

* Support subfolders in 7z archives. Please be aware that it will take *ages* to load if you select a rom from a larger 7z archive since the whole archive is processed.

PandoraNetPuzzle (14-02-2011) (Pandora Game Port)

PandoraNetPuzzle is a logical puzzle game – light up all the tiles pipes and nodes to solve.

Changes:

changes are exclusively in pnd xml file to support the changes in HF5 and support lxde

changed xml name to PXML.xml
added an application tag in PXML.xml
changed category from Games to Game

Games is incorrect but supported in xfce
changing it to Game allows it to appear in LXDE´s game menu rather than the “other” menu
Games is incorrectly mentioned in auto generated comment and is not mentioned in freedesktop spec.

application tag is required for the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/
to have a recognisable name for some reason its not mandatory

xml file must only be called PXML.xml for pnd_info and others.

Snes9x4P (13-02-2011) (SNES emu for Pandora)

Snes9x4P is a port of Dingoo SNES9x to Pandora. This is probably a shoddy port, but it runs Killer Instinct, Yoshi’s Island, etc, at full speed.

Changes:

* Fixed support for 7z archives. Now it should work nicely (again). Most likely it was broken for quite some time…
* Updated to the latest snes9x4X version which adds support for turning off transparency.
* Now compiled with the latest toolchain version. This might change speed slightly, though I would not bet on it…

Ginge v1.0 r4 (Caanoo misc)

Ginge is actually not an emulator, but a compatibility layer to get GP2x applications working on Caanoo.

Quote:

Ginge is Not GP2X Emulator, it’s an application that can run many GP2X F100/F200 games on other ARM Linux platforms, which currently includes Caanoo. It is not a full hardware emulator like MAME, PicoDrive or similar, it does not emulate the CPU. It can be considered as compatibility layer similar to Wine on PC Linux, however it does emulate small portion of MMSP2 system-on-chip. It operates by hooking certain system calls and using realtime patching of code that accesses memory mapped hardware directly.

Pandora Hotfix Pack V (Beta) (Pandora misc)

EvilDragon of the Pandora development team released a beta version of their fifth Hotfix pack for the Pandora.

Quote:

HotFix 5 is finally nearing completion. It’s pretty stable already, so we got out of the Beta-Status and into RC 1. It’s not the final one yet and might have some bugs left, but it should run mostly without issues. The final release will only add bugfixes and no new features.

Here are the changes that happened from Beta 4 to RC1:

* Added codepages (they had been removed when AbiWord has been removed). This prevented some apps like XBMC from starting.
* Removed the community backdrops to make the image size smaller.
* Added xdotool, a pretty useful and versatile app for mapping GUI functions to the keyboard
* Added Pandora Input Tester to the System-Menu
* Input Tester: Show keys that have been pressed
* libpnd: Increased the number of apps that can be defined in a PND from 20 to 50
* op_menu: specify field width for longer usernames (this fixes the non-working Pandora-Menu button in XFCE for some users)
* Low Power Mode: Now using cpu-speed-script to properly set the CPU Speed back
* MiniMenu: Some bug fixes (Keyboard-Shortcut wasn’t working, crashed with wrong categories), etc.
* MiniMenu: Added Subcategory-folders in the Main Category
* MiniMenu: Added OVR-Editor
* MiniMenu: Added the possibility to add custom categories / subcategories (otherwise, the Freedesktop-Standard is used)
