Ruckage, known for heavily polished GP2x Freeware games, hits the news again. Today he wrote us about a major retouch of his old GP2x Fenix game Blingo.
Here is what he wrote:
This is a complete re-write of the code with some major new features and new graphics, the only image being re-used from the original is the cherub and even he has had some tidying up and has been completely re-coloured.
One of the new features I’m trying to incorporate is full touchscreen support, I feel the game is ideal for this so it makes sense to me to add it. Unfortunately I don’t own an F200 unit and can’t afford to buy one so if you’re feeling generous and would like to donate some money to me you can visit my rather shabby website (I’ll update it sometime) and use the donate button to send me some money through paypal. If I can raise enough to get the F200 then I will obviously be more inclined to make games that support the touchscreen, and it would also make it easier for me to develop and then test the touchscreen functions. I will keep you informed of the total amount donated (if any) in this post. Any help is greatly appreciated.

http://www.muddymonkey.co.uk/Anyway, enough begging and onto a wip Blingo 2008 screen shot. The next image shows the profile selection screen, each profile you create stores your name, number of games played and personal best score. You may also notice that each profile has a small avatar which you design when you create the profile.
Apart from touch screen support and numerous other small changes and additions there is another major addition…… which I’m going to keep secret for the time being but may reveal in a few days time. Watch this space.
This patch allows all Allegro based games to be played on the GP2x F-200.
Tested with:
-BunkerMaster
-Rafkill
-GravityForce
-O2em
The objective is to advance as much as possible into enemy territory, and to try to survive. Move to the right, shoot down enemies, and don’t charge alone! Wait for your army to back you up. Use the different weapons to defeat your foes, and capture their flagpoles until you can’t anymore.
Changes:
Version 0.3 – Fix for F-200
Thanks to kevcal for fix and sbock for testing.
Also some performance improvements.
“In Gravity Force you control a little ship. Your mission is to collect all cargo and return it safely to your home base. This would be quite easy if there were no enemies and no gravity pulling you to the ground. Well, for the enemies you have a cannon (in fact more than 6 different weapon systems), and for the gravity you have your skill (maybe)”.
Changes:
Version 0.4 – Fix for F-200
Thanks to kevcal for fix and sbock for testing.
Liquid War is a unique multiplayer wargame. Its rules are truely original and have been invented by Thomas Colcombet. You control an army of liquid and have to try and eat your opponents.

Version 0.2 – Fix for F-200
Thanks to kevcal for fix and sbock for testing.

Changes:
* Replaced German translation with slightly different version I found. German translation now works! Wunderbar! Thanks to fusion_power for testing.
Imerion has released a GP2x-F200 game, but he himself, hasn’t one. If anyone wants to help beta testing, feel free to do so.
Release notes:
Hello everyone! I just finished a touch-screen based game for the F200. Problem is, I don’t have one myself so I am not certain if it works. Could someone help me test it and tell me how the touch-screen controls work?
I also need ideas for the game. It was mostly made as a test, but if people like it I might continue to work on it for a while. Here are the stuff I am still planning to implement :
* Non-touchscreen controls for all other GP2X units.
* Background music.
* Some better graphics. Especially the birds needs a redo. And here are a few ideas of what could be implemented, if anyone wants it :
* Different levels with different backdrops and obstacles.
* Different types of birds, or perhaps something else to shoot at. (Targets, balloons, etc)Any feedback is appreciated. More info can be found in the included ReadMe.
Smilies are going wild. Try to cach as much as you can. This game works both, on a GP2x-F100 and a GP2x-F200 (touchscreen one).
ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed!
Some of the adventures ScummVM supports include Adventure Soft’s Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Revolution’s Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; Wyrmkeep’s Inherit the Earth; Coktel Vision’s Gobliiins; Westwood Studios’ The Legend of Kyrandia and games based on LucasArts’ SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more. You can find a thorough list with details on which games are supported and how well on the compatibility page. ScummVM is continually improving, so check back often.
Among the systems on which you can play those games are Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Dreamcast, PocketPC, PalmOS, AmigaOS, BeOS, OS/2, PSP, PS2, SymbianOS/EPOC and many more…
Release notes:
Just a quick news post to point out that I have done another 0.11.0 preview release (this really is the last one I hope before the official 0.11.0 release).
You can find more information on my ScummVM news page.
Thanks to Manjuu and SBock for the help testing the fixes in the preview 3 build.
Any feedback on this release would be most appreciated as I am unable to test myself.
How to provide feedback?
In order to help me keep track of requests, bugs etc. I am asking that people kindly report such issues to the correct places (or at least copy them there). I don’t spend all my time looking at forums and bug reports placed on random internet forums are never very helpful to me (i.e. they are very unlikely to get fixed). The same applies to feature requests etc. etc.
If you would like me to consider a feature or fix a bug help me to help you by ensuring the reports end up recorded in the one official place.

Note: Feature Requests for 0.11.0 are closed but any requests will be looked at for the next release.
