Bannerbomb v2.0 (Alpha) (Wii Application)

The exploit dubbed as BannerBomb created by Comex is the only public way to load homebrew applications on a System Menu 4.0 Wii. The exploit was released on the 5th April 2009 through the IRC Channel #Wiidev. The exploit works by using a malformed banner to crash the wii loading the boot.dol placed in the root of the SD card. Currently this exploit does not allow the Homebrew channel to be installed due to the exploit that was used being blocked in 4.0. However, it can still be installed through BannerBomb on System Menu version 3.X.

Changes:

– Works with System Menu 4.2.
– Fixed compatibility with System Menu 4.2.

Dop-IOS MOD v5 (Wii Application)

Dop-IOS MOD is a modification of the application Dop-IOS that allows you to choose which IOS you would like to use to install other IOSs (trucha bugged or not).

While the original Dop-IOS let you install other IOS, it used IOS 249 to do it. Many people felt a certain resentment toward that on which the authors have no comment.

A better solution for all users would’ve been to allow users to select which IOS they use to install other IOSs. Enter: Dop-IOS MOD.

Changes:

Mirror of the update made to Dop-IOS v8; All IOS installations updated to reflect the current state of the Wiie

HackMii Installer v0.5 (Wii Application)

Quote:
“As you all know, Nintendo pushed a huge update yesterday. Turns out it’s a rather lame attempt to block, among other things, the “HackMii Installer”. They also remove The Homebrew Channel and DVDX on every system menu startup, but for that they just hardcoded the used title IDs. So let’s play this silly game: Let’s switch title IDs!”

All Wii’s can be “homebrew” enabled again. The HackMii Installer is intend to enable legal homebrew and to play your legally owned backups. Every other use is not in compliance with the creators of this Hack and in no way welcome. Be fair and buy the games you like!

Changes:

* New exploit to enable (un-)installation of all components on fully updated Wiis.
* Fix hangs on some setups (they’re all related to retarded IOS patches).

Wii System v4.2 Homebrew Antipotion (Wii misc)

bushing and team are working on a modified version of the “HackMii Installer”, which will be able to reinstall the Homebrew Channel, DVDX and BootMii (just as before).

Everything seems to turn out into a mouse and cat game again!

Anyway… homebrew is a great thing, but if you want to play commercial games, then go and buy them! Developers also have to feed their families!

Wii64 (Beta 1) (N64 emu for Wii)

Wii64 is a port of the popular multi-OS N64 emulator, Mupen64, to the Nintendo Gamecube and Wii through the libOGC library. The emulator is planned to use dynamic recompilation of the N64 machine code to PowerPC (the Gamecube/Wii’s ISA) and full hardware accelerated graphics to (hopefully) achieve full-speed emulation.

A few notes about this release:

Wii64 users (Wii build):

The emulator can be controlled with any combination of GC controllers, Classic Controllers, and Wiimotes with Nunchuks (sorry, Wiimotes must have Nunchuks). See the included readme for details on the controls. You can load ROMs (only uncompressed) and saves from a FAT formatted SD or USB (details on the folders required are in the readme).

Cube64 users (Gamecube build):

Due to memory limitations, there is no expansion pak support, it uses TLB cache, 2xSaI and FB Textures may break things and of course ROMs will run slower.

Fellow Developers:

We don’t want to discourage other people forking and working on the emulator; however, any unofficial builds must not be called “Wii64” or “Cube64” nor use the Wii64 or Cube64 logo in order to avoid confusion. For now, we’re just releasing a snapshot of the source used to build Beta 1, but we’re planning on updating the public repository with each commit we’ve made to our private repository so that everyone can see the progression of the code. This process will begin soon.

Support:

Finally, there is a support forum located on TehSkeen ( http://www.tehskeen.com/ ), so if you are having trouble with Beta 1, please seek help there before submitting issues to the Google code tracker. You can also join in and discuss the project with other users there.

Preloader v0.30 (Wii misc)

Preloader ‘replaces’ the systemmenu (it’s not really replaced, its main.dol is just renamed) with a simple loader which allows you to automatically load the HBC, a .dol you can install from SD or the systemmenu. It also allows you to use simple patches on the systemmenu.

Warning: This homebrew application will brick your Wii if you misuse it!

Changes:

– added SDHC support
– added a new option to the “return to” setting: “return to: autoboot”
– changed FAT code to only mount/read from SD
– fixed a bug where enabled autoboot overwrote the “return to preloader” setting
– removed netcode, online update check, online update code
– The installer now get the IOS version the System menu uses from its TMD and if the version is 60 or higher applies the ES_DIVerify patch

Homebrew Browser v0.3.6 (Wii Application)

The Homebrew Browser allows you to download the latest homebrew applications and games all through your Wii. You don’t need to take your SD card out. You don’t even need a computer! You can also delete homebrew you no longer want.

No more dead links, no more extracting files, no more finding out that the homebrew application doesn’t include an icon.png and meta.xml in the zip file!

Changes:

* Fixed scrolling list issue
* Added ability to not delete folders and not extract files if they exist
* Added ability to select starting category and sorting method
* Re-added mp3 support (add loop.mp3 and it will play it instead of loop.mod)
* Improved scrolling of the list at start up
